Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant and retail company that has been serving customers since 1969. Known for its unique blend of Southern country hospitality, comfort food, and retail merchandise, Cracker Barrel offers a welcoming place where guests can gather, share a meal, and enjoy a distinctive shopping experience. With a network of locations nationwide and a dedicated workforce exceeding 70,000 team members, Cracker Barrel prides itself on its deep roots in American tradition and its commitment to delivering more than just a meal. The company emphasizes a culture of belonging, teamwork, and continuous growth, supporting its employees from their very first day through comprehensive training and development programs.
Joining Cracker Barrel as a Restaurant Manager means stepping into a dynamic leadership role that balances the operational and interpersonal aspects of restaurant management. This is not just about running a restaurant efficiently; it is about leading with care, ensuring both the team and guests feel valued, and embodying the spirit of country hospitality. Restaurant Managers at Cracker Barrel are responsible for overseeing all front-of-house and back-of-house operations, managing inventory, coaching and developing staff, and delivering an exceptional guest experience that aligns with the company’s core values.
As a Restaurant Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining the smooth flow of kitchen operations and front-of-house service, ensuring high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will inspire the team to manage busy shifts with composure and efficiency while fostering a supportive and positive work environment. You will leverage tools and training provided to set an example, instill pride in the work, and motivate your team to consistently deliver the goodness of Southern hospitality.
Cracker Barrel values leaders who bring a people-first approach and can thrive under pressure, balancing the energy of a busy restaurant with thoughtful management of team members. With 2 to 5 years or more of successful restaurant management experience, you will be expected to work five 10-hour shifts per week, including holidays and weekends as needed, demonstrating dedication to the role and flexibility to meet operational demands. A valid driver’s license is also required.
The company offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the well-being and growth of its employees. From competitive salaries and merit increases to medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, and paid time off, Cracker Barrel ensures that its workforce is taken care of beyond the workplace. Additionally, employees enjoy opportunities for tuition reimbursement, professional development, and career advancement, with most managerial promotions being filled internally. Other perks include a 401k plan with company matching, an employee stock purchase program, and special discounts on food and retail items.
Working at Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a community that celebrates teamwork, respects diversity, and values the contributions of every individual. The company fosters an inclusive environment with recognition programs, onboarding support, and events that encourage employee engagement and camaraderie. Emphasizing equal opportunity, Cracker Barrel is committed to providing a welcoming workplace where all qualified applicants are considered regardless of race, gender, age, or other protected categories.
If you are a leader who believes hospitality starts with strong leadership, can manage a full restaurant experience, and seeks to grow with a company that values more than just service, then Cracker Barrel invites you to apply and find your place in good company. This role offers the chance to make meaningful moments every day—for your team, your guests, and yourself.
