Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established restaurant and retail chain known for its unique combination of Southern country cooking and nostalgic country store ambiance. Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown exponentially and now operates numerous locations across the United States, employing over 70,000 team members nationwide. The company prides itself on fostering a friendly and welcoming environment where guests can feel at home, gathering around delicious meals and exploring unexpected finds in the retail shops. Cracker Barrel's mission goes beyond just serving meals; it’s about creating moments of connection, comfort, and genuine hospitality that make every visit memorable. With a strong focus on teamwork and community, the organization nurtures a culture of belonging and support for its employees and guests alike.
As a Cracker Barrel Restaurant Manager, you will be at the heart of the operation, leading both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role is much more than managing daily restaurant functions; it embodies leadership that promotes care, respect, and a people-first approach. You will oversee everything from inventory management and team development to operational efficiencies, fostering an atmosphere where employees and guests feel valued and appreciated. Your leadership will inspire staff to maintain the company’s reputation for outstanding customer service and Southern hospitality. The position demands a balance of strong operational skills with an empathetic approach to managing and motivating the team.
The role requires a leader who thrives on creating seamless dining experiences by effectively managing restaurant flow, coaching the team for success, and handling the pressures of a fast-paced environment with composure. With 2-5+ years of successful restaurant management experience, you will bring proven skills and confidence to this highly rewarding position. The commitment to work five 10-hour shifts per week, including holidays and weekends, alongside holding a valid driver's license, are essential prerequisites for the job. This full-time position offers competitive annual salary, merit increase opportunities, and quarterly bonuses, demonstrating that Cracker Barrel values and rewards hard work and dedication.
As part of the Cracker Barrel family, you will have access to comprehensive benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage. The company supports employee growth and advancement, with over 90% of General Manager and District Manager roles filled internally, tuition reimbursement, and professional development opportunities. Cracker Barrel also promotes a strong culture of inclusion, offering onboarding, training, recognition programs, and employee events that help build camaraderie. Financially, there is a 401k plan with company match starting at 90 days and an employee stock purchase program. Additional perks like exclusive discounts on food, retail items, and related services add extra value to your work experience here.
This restaurant manager role at Cracker Barrel is designed for individuals who are passionate about people and hospitality, eager to lead with care, and driven to deliver more than just a meal but a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you enjoy managing a full restaurant operation and want to be part of a company that values its team and guests alike, this opportunity is an ideal fit. Join Cracker Barrel and become part of the thriving community that has been serving up comfort and joy for over five decades.
