Job Description
Raising Cane's is a well-established restaurant chain renowned for its commitment to high-quality food and exceptional customer service. Known primarily for its delicious chicken finger meals, Raising Cane's has cultivated a unique culture focused on teamwork, integrity, and a welcoming dining experience. As a rapidly expanding fast-casual restaurant brand, Raising Cane's places great emphasis on standardized operations and maintaining a vibrant and energetic workplace environment.
The Restaurant Manager at Raising Cane's plays a pivotal role in supporting the Restaurant Leader to ensure day-to-day operational excellence. This leadership position is essential to uphold the company's rigorous standards and vibrant culture during each shift. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all zones within the restaurant, ensuring each operates efficiently and effectively throughout their shift. This includes managing cash handling with accountability, enforcing company policies, and leading the team to deliver exemplary customer service.
Working as a Restaurant Manager at Raising Cane's also involves managing scheduling, staffing, and cost control to optimize restaurant performance. The role requires a hands-on approach in a physically demanding, fast-paced kitchen environment where managers may be involved in activities such as walking, standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and working with kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies safely. Besides managing inside operations, the role occasionally includes outdoor tasks under varying weather conditions.
This position carries important responsibilities such as acting as the manager on duty (MOD), opening and closing the restaurant, and executing shift meetings that align with both safety standards and operational protocols. Managers are also empowered to authorize employee functions requiring approval, such as time clock overrides and discounts, ensuring that the team operates within established guidelines.
In addition to operational duties, the Restaurant Manager fosters a positive workplace by utilizing reward and recognition programs to motivate and reward crewmembers. Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant facility is also a core responsibility, contributing to a safe, inviting atmosphere for both customers and employees.
The role requires a blend of organizational skills, flexibility, and energy. Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a dynamic work setting. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
Applicants should be proficient in technology systems like Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and be quick to adapt to new systems. The job may require varied shift hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel for work-related training or functions. Raising Cane's is committed to training and development, providing comprehensive company training programs for all managers.
The Restaurant Manager position offers a competitive hourly pay rate ranging from $21 to $23 per hour, with potential monthly bonuses. Additional benefits include paid time off for eligible employees, free meals during shifts, and the restaurant’s notable practice of closing on major holidays such as New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Easter, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, providing a healthy work-life balance. This position is ideal for candidates with at least one year of restaurant or retail management experience who are passionate about leading teams and enhancing customer experiences in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
