We are currently seeking a dedicated Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead by example, actively engaging in every aspect of restaurant operations. Unlike many traditional management positions, this role requires you to be on the front lines—working the food preparation line, maintaining cleanliness, overseeing guest service, and managing shifts from opening through to closing. As the Restaurant Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager or Franchise Partner and play a crucial role in meeting business and strategic goals through effective team leadership and operational excellence.

In this position, you will own the profit and loss responsibilities of the restaurant, managing food costs, controlling inventory, verifying invoices, and minimizing waste. You will also focus on labor efficiency by implementing smart scheduling, cross-training team members, and ensuring station versatility. Beyond operational management, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining top hourly talent to build a strong, motivated team. Wearing a professional uniform daily, you will set the tone for team presentation and uphold all brand standards, food safety practices, and service protocols. This role demands professionalism, strong leadership abilities, and the stamina to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Steak 'n Shake offers competitive pay of up to $21.25 per hour, making it a maximum wage employer that leads the market in hourly rates within a 25-mile radius of its restaurants.

Job Requirements

  • 1+ years of QSR or fast-casual restaurant management experience required
  • Proven history of consistent work tenure and reliable leadership
  • Deep understanding of food cost management, labor optimization, and operational KPIs
  • Hands-on leadership comfortable working the drive through or grill when needed
  • Tech-savvy with POS systems, inventory platforms, and invoice tools
  • Strong physical stamina - can lift 50 lbs, stay on your feet all day, and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Professionalism that extends to your LinkedIn profile (if you have one) and resume - both should tell the same story
  • Track record in driving hospitality excellence and navigating change in a team setting
  • Minimum of 18 years of age

Job Duties
