The Restaurant Manager role is a pivotal position within the restaurant's leadership team. The primary responsibility of the Restaurant Manager is to assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations with a strong focus on guest and staff relations. This includes managing employee performance, resolving guest concerns, and ensuring the smooth functioning of both front-of-house and back-of-house activities. The manager serves as a role model by demonstrating the company’s core values and leadership principles, setting the tone for a positive, engaging work environment.

In this role, the Restaurant Manager is expected to handle various administrative and operational tasks such as creating floor charts weekly, opening and closing the restaurant, and maintaining accurate records related to sales, inventory, and staffing schedules. Additionally, the manager assists with operational systems such as Micros and R365, ensuring that these tools are up to date and functional for staff use. The manager also plays a critical role in inventory management, supporting the General Manager with wine and liquor ordering, dry goods organization, and storage maintenance.

The position requires hands-on leadership by performing manager of duty responsibilities, maintaining a visible presence in the dining area to oversee service standards and address real-time issues as they arise. Leading pre-shift meetings in the absence of senior management is also an important duty, fostering effective communication and preparation among team members. The Restaurant Manager is entrusted with taking responsibility for both front and back-of-house teams either directly or in conjunction with senior managers.

Ideal candidates should bring proven experience in restaurant management or similar roles, particularly in concepts requiring food and beverage expertise. Job Duties

  • Demonstrates and role-models the company’s core values and leadership principles
  • Handles guest concerns, complaints, and needs according to company guidelines
  • Addresses guest and staff issues in the moment and sees to their proper resolution or involves appropriate supervisors
  • Manages employee performance through coaching, recognition, and corrective action
  • Performs the duties of manager on duty by maintaining a presence in the dining room and service
  • Creates floor charts on a weekly basis
  • Performs all opening and closing duties
  • Assists with Micros and R365 systems to ensure they are up to date
  • Adds Micros buttons when needed
  • Assists the General Manager with accountability for wine and liquor ordering and inventory
  • Plots Open Table reservations
  • Reviews and enters daily Avero logbook entries
  • Organizes dry goods, small wares, and storage areas
  • Assists in ordering restaurant supplies, checking in deliveries, and maintaining proper cost control
  • Helps organize and move beverage products in coordination with the Beverage Manager
  • Plans for and leads pre-shift meetings in the absence of the Assistant General Manager or General Manager
  • Takes responsibility for managing front and back-of-house employees in conjunction with senior management
  • Makes recommendations to improve restaurant operations as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Operations, General Manager, or Assistant General Manager
