Job Description
Chuy's is a renowned restaurant brand founded in 1982 in Austin, Texas, specializing in made-from-scratch Tex-Mex cuisine served in a vibrant and eclectic atmosphere. Known for its unique décor, featuring hand-carved wooden fish swimming from the ceiling and shiny hubcaps displayed above booths, Chuy's offers an environment that is both fun and full of personality. The restaurant is beloved for its commitment to delivering flavorful food and fantastic dining experiences that go beyond just serving meals. With a culture that emphasizes fun, flavor, and creativity, Chuy's has established itself as a favorite destination for Tex-Mex lovers and families seeking an enjoyable dining outing. The company prides itself on its strong internal culture, safety, and employee wellness, providing growth opportunities and a supportive environment for its staff.
The Restaurant Manager at Chuy's is a pivotal role, acting as the heartbeat of the restaurant's daily operations. This leadership position requires an individual who can manage the fast-paced, high-volume environment typical of a successful full-service Tex-Mex kitchen. The manager oversees staff and systems across various front-of-house and bar areas, including the lobby, bar, and to-go services, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. The goal is to create an environment where guests feel valued and attended to from the moment they enter until the completion of their dining experience, including enjoying their signature margaritas.
This role demands a leader who brings energy, passion, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. The Restaurant Manager's responsibilities extend beyond administration to include fostering a team-oriented atmosphere focused on results and high service standards. Because Chuy's emphasizes made-from-scratch cooking, the manager needs a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, along with the ability to ensure compliance across all operational areas. This training and attentiveness help maintain the quality and consistency Chuy's customers expect.
Pay for this position varies by location, reflecting the local market and operational factors. Alongside competitive salary offerings, Chuy's is committed to workforce development, promoting from within whenever possible, thereby providing leadership and career development opportunities. The company also supports the overall wellness of its employees through comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision coverage, employee assistance programs, paid vacation, and eligibility for parental leave and 401(k) retirement plans with employer match. Casual work attire and an exclusive employee discount program enhance the experience of working with Chuy's, making it not just a job but a place to grow and thrive in a supportive, fun-filled setting. This role is ideal for those with restaurant management experience who want to lead a vibrant team in a lively and dynamic environment where fun and flavor are served in equal measure.
