Job Description

This job opportunity is offered by a prominent restaurant operating within a busy airport environment. The establishment prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high standards of quality, service, and operational excellence. The restaurant focuses on increasing guest counts, sales, and market operating profit (MOP) growth through efficient team leadership and superior management practices. Being situated within an airport, the restaurant adheres to strict security protocols including the necessity for employees to pass TSA federal background checks, ensuring the safety of guests, team members, and company assets.

The role is a full-time position designed for a skilled leader who will oversee specific departments within the restaurant. This management role involves the selection, training, development, and performance management of all team members working in the restaurant. The candidate will be responsible for optimizing restaurant profitability, increasing sales, and controlling operational costs while ensuring compliance with company standards. As a department manager, the successful candidate will manage all operational facets during scheduled shifts, including marketing efforts, human resources functions, staff scheduling, guest interaction, and maintaining cleanliness and product quality.

The role requires collaboration with Store Managers to maintain workforce plans and ensure adequate staffing levels for all shifts through preparation of schedules. The manager will conduct interviews to ensure new hourly team members meet company standards and will directly supervise these team members. Besides leadership and staff development, this position demands hands-on assistance in daily operations when acting as Manager-on-Duty, including food preparation, dishwashing, lifting, handling guest and team member complaints, and working in a fast-paced, noisy environment.

This role demands a candidate with prior experience as a kitchen or restaurant manager, preferably with at least three years in a similar capacity. Knowledge of purchasing and food production is important along with previous kitchen experience. Educational qualifications include college coursework with preference given to candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree. Job Duties

  • Manage all areas of operations within the Restaurant including marketing and human resources while ensuring the Company’s standards of quality service and operations are maintained
  • Manage operations during scheduled shifts that include daily decision making staff support guest interaction scheduling planning while upholding standards product quality and cleanliness
  • Work with the Store Manager to maintain an accurate and up-to-date manpower plan of Restaurant staffing needs
  • Prepare schedules and ensure that the Restaurant is staffed for all shifts
  • Use appropriate selection tools to interview all Restaurant hourly team members ensuring team members hired meet Company standards
  • Staff train and develop restaurant hourly team members through orientation ongoing feedback establishment of performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews on a regular basis
  • Directly supervise hourly team members
  • Identify operational opportunities to build sales and control costs develop and implement plans to address opportunities i.e. R&M marketing
  • Ensure proper security procedures are in place to protect team members guests and Company assets
  • Prepare end of shift reports including Daily Labor Control Daily Food Control and Daily Sales
  • When acting as Manager-on-Duty oversee restaurant operations including but not limited to preparing food washing dishes lifting objects up to 30 pounds solving guest and team member complaints constant standing and walking work in noisy environment
