The General Manager role at Church's Chicken is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing one restaurant location and ensuring its operational success. The General Manager leads by example to create a clean, safe, and efficient setting where guests receive friendly, quick, and accurate service every time they visit.

The General Manager manages all business activities within their restaurant. This includes meeting sales goals and controlling expenses to stay within budget or better, ensuring the profitability of the location. The General Manager is also responsible for developing and engaging the team, which often includes an Assistant General Manager and Shift Leader. Through effective supervision, training, and motivation, the General Manager cultivates an empowered team that is dedicated to providing outstanding guest experiences and achieving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include establishing service standards that exceed guest expectations and continuously seek feedback to drive improvements in food quality and guest satisfaction. The General Manager handles guest complaints with professionalism using a customer-centric approach focused on listening, apologizing, satisfying, and thanking guests to resolve issues promptly. Furthermore, this leader handles all operational aspects such as maintaining compliance with labor laws, managing inventory and equipment maintenance, and preparing detailed operational reports to support informed business decisions.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least one year of supervisory experience in the restaurant industry
  • successful completion of all training and passing of all applicable tests
  • must have a valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance
  • ability to work a minimum of 50 to 55 hours per week
  • availability to work flexible shifts including weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum one year of supervisory experience in the restaurant industry

  • knowledge of all restaurant policies, practices and operational and human resources procedures
  • knowledge and understanding of labor cost reporting, operating statements, and other business-related reporting

Job Duties

  • Creates an in store service environment that exceeds guest expectations with regards to friendly, quick, and accurate service
  • builds team understanding and commitment to guest service standards
  • communicates and follows-up with guests to obtain feedback and identify service and food quality improvement opportunities
  • assists and resolves all guest complaints in-person or by phone
  • ensures all incoming calls are handled in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner
  • directs and conducts regular training with team members
  • provides regular feedback to all team members and identifies areas for improvement
  • works with direct reports to cross-train and assist in the development of new skills
  • creates a workplace where team members strive to do their best, are rewarded for performance, and have fun
  • ensures that federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances are practiced and enforced
  • maintains a clean and safe restaurant for guests and team members
  • responsible for budgets and makes adjustments as needed
  • ensures compliance with labor laws
  • understands, enforces and adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • maintains restaurant inventory and ensures accessibility and organization
  • responsible for routine maintenance and repairs on all equipment
  • prepares and analyzes operation reports
  • performs other duties as assigned
