This job opportunity is offered by an independently owned and operated Del Taco restaurant franchise, which means that while you will be working under the Del Taco brand, your direct employment will be through the independent franchisee, not Del Taco LLC. The franchise owner is fully responsible for all employment-related matters, including hiring, firing, wages, scheduling, and supervision. This structure allows for a localized and direct management approach tailored to the unique needs of the restaurant and its surrounding community.

The role of the Restaurant Manager is pivotal in supporting the franchise’s success and growth. Reporting directly to the Area Director, the Restaurant Manager is tasked with leading the restaurant team by championing the "Del Taco Way," a comprehensive approach that involves solid leadership, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to customer satisfaction. As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for staffing the store with high-quality, motivated employees, recruiting and retaining top talent, and ensuring that the entire team stays compliant with current training and certification standards. You will foster a culture centered on service excellence, teamwork, and fun, which helps build an engaging work environment. Performance management is also a critical aspect, where you will evaluate employees’ performance and oversee disciplinary actions when necessary while also nurturing career growth and development opportunities for team members.

Your day-to-day duties include maintaining high operational standards by adhering strictly to all safety and food quality guidelines. You will ensure the restaurant environment is clean, all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, and that employees consistently follow uniform and service protocols. Sales growth is another critical focus area. Profitability management is also essential, requiring you to control labor costs, manage inventory to minimize waste and prevent theft, and enforce stringent cash handling procedures. You will also oversee vendor relationships and ensure operational expenses remain within budget. Compliance with labor laws and safety standards is mandatory.

Ideal candidates for this role will come with 3 to 5 years of experience in the quick service or full-service restaurant industry, hold a ServSafe Certification, and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus but not required. You must be comfortable working under pressure with minimal supervision and possess strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

This position demands physical stamina, including extended periods of standing and the ability to bend, lift, and reach. Travel within the assigned area to different restaurant locations is required, including the possibility of overnight stays. A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance are necessary for this role.
