Job Description

Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, located in National Harbor, Maryland, is a premier destination within the Marriott International portfolio, offering exceptional hospitality and world-class event hosting. Known for its expansive, beautifully designed atriums and state-of-the-art meeting facilities, the resort caters to a diverse clientele ranging from business travelers to families and large-scale convention attendees. As part of the globally recognized Marriott International brand, Gaylord National Resort emphasizes a culture of inclusivity, guest satisfaction, and employee development, making it a leader within both the food and beverage and hospitality industries. Marriott International fosters an environment where cultural diversity, talent, and experience are celebrated and provides robust career development opportunities that empower employees at every level.

The Food and Beverage Management position at Gaylord National Resort is a full-time management role that offers an annual pay range of $60,000 to $83,000, coupled with bonus eligibility. This role is vital to the smooth operation of the resort’s restaurant, bar, and room service sectors. The manager will oversee daily restaurant operations, including supervising staff, assisting with menu planning, and upholding the highest standards of service and sanitation. A critical focus of this position is to drive continuous improvement in guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance within the assigned areas.

This leadership role demands a proactive and hands-on management style — the ability to support the team during peak meal times by assisting servers and hosts, while also managing staffing and operational efficiencies. The manager will play a key role in training and developing team members by identifying educational needs and implementing effective training programs to meet service goals. Additionally, the role involves ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations, liquor laws, and Marriott’s company policies.

Beyond managing operations and staff, this position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead by example and foster a collaborative team environment built on mutual trust and respect. The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for addressing guest issues with professionalism and sensitivity, striving to exceed guest expectations continuously. Regular interaction with guests to solicit feedback and implement service improvements is a critical component of the role.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive industry experience—either a high school diploma with four years in food and beverage, culinary, or a related field or a two-year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with two years of relevant experience. This blend of education and practical experience ensures the manager can handle both the operational and strategic aspects of food and beverage management effectively.

Marriott International supports an inclusive and fair workplace and encourages applications from all candidates. Beyond competitive pay and bonus structures, Gaylord National Resort offers a rich blend of benefits including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and career advancement opportunities – all designed to support employees’ wellbeing and professional growth. Joining the Gaylord National Resort Food and Beverage team means becoming part of a global organization that values creativity, entrepreneurship, and dedicated service, enabling you to grow your career while delivering extraordinary hospitality experiences.
