The Bar Manager role at Ruth's Chris Steak House in Wilkes Barre, PA, is a pivotal position within the front-of-house management team. This role is best suited for an experienced hospitality professional passionate about fine dining, beverage service, and team leadership. The Bar Manager oversees all aspects of bar operations, from inventory control, staff training, and beverage preparation to financial performance and compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Job Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading a high-volume, upscale concept restaurant
  • Wine knowledge preferred
  • Some culinary experience or training a plus
  • Formal business education or a restaurant management degree a plus
  • Above average computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing a bar in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant setting
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques related to beverages and food presentation
  • Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS
  • proficient in cash handling
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in staff training, supervising, and team management
  • Background in food safety practices and hospitality management principles
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently during shift management in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience with culinary or kitchen management is a plus

Job Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of bar operations within the fine dining environment, ensuring smooth and efficient service

  • Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
