Job Description
The Surfing Fox, located within the prestigious Pierside Hotel in Santa Monica, California, is a vibrant restaurant that perfectly embodies the essence of Southern California's fresh, local flavors combined with a breezy ocean ambiance. As Santa Monica’s newest dining destination, The Surfing Fox has successfully blended the best elements of modern California cuisine with vintage surf culture, creating a unique and welcoming environment for locals and visitors alike. Known for its innovative menu and commitment to quality, the restaurant offers guests an exceptional culinary experience that is as relaxed as it is refined, capturing the spirit of the coastal lifestyle that defines Southern California.
At The Surfing Fox, we pride ourselves on crafting an atmosphere where creativity meets passion for exceptional hospitality. We encourage independent thinkers and entrepreneurial spirits to join our team, fostering a culture where innovation and risk-taking are celebrated. This philosophy extends beyond the kitchen to every member of our staff, emphasizing personal and professional growth as integral components of success. Employees are not just workers; they are valued individuals whose unique talents and contributions are recognized and nurtured.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic Restaurant Manager to lead our food and beverage operations, including the restaurant and room service outlets. This full-time position, classified as regular employment with a competitive salary range of $70,304 to $72,000 per year, offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dynamic team and play a critical role in shaping guest experiences. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with corporate, franchise, and regulatory standards, and driving financial performance while maintaining exemplary customer service standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate and develop team members, and a keen understanding of restaurant and hotel operational practices. Responsibilities involve recruiting, training, scheduling, and mentoring staff to create a service environment that exceeds guest expectations. The manager will also handle budget management, monitor expenses such as labor, food, and beverage costs, and implement innovative promotional ideas to attract more guests and increase market share.
This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable working closely with associates and customers, addressing issues promptly, and continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the dining experience. Physical stamina is essential, as the position involves extensive mobility throughout the outlet areas, standing for most of the shift, and occasional lifting of moderate weights. The work environment is primarily indoors, with potential periods of elevated temperatures when working near outside dining facilities or kitchen areas.
The Surfing Fox offers an array of comprehensive benefits designed to support the well-being and growth of its employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off with unlimited PTO, 401(k) participation with employer matching, and various wellness programs. Additionally, we provide great employee discounts, referral bonuses, and an employee assistance program that underscores our commitment to a supportive workplace culture.
Joining The Surfing Fox means becoming part of a forward-thinking, inclusive community committed to excellence, creativity, and sustainability. We invite motivated professionals who share our passion for serving exceptional food and hospitality to consider this opportunity and contribute to our continued success and reputation as a leading dining destination in Santa Monica.
