Job Description
Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, a renowned Australian-themed restaurant that opened its doors in March 1988. Outback Steakhouse is celebrated for its commitment to delivering serious food, concentrated service, and spirited drinks in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The restaurant takes pride in its unique culture that emphasizes respect, camaraderie, and treating people "Just Right"—a philosophy that is deeply ingrained in the way the restaurant operates and how it treats both its customers and employees. The culture fosters enthusiasm among its team members, known as "Outbackers," by creating an environment where they are valued and empowered.
At Outback Steakhouse, the customer experience is paramount. Every guest is treated like they are welcomed into the team members' own home, ensuring a warm, friendly, and memorable dining experience. This dedication extends to its employees, with the company investing heavily in their growth and success. New managers undergo an extensive Manager in Training (MIT) program that equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to master all managerial roles within the restaurant. This program, combined with previous experience, prepares managers to effectively oversee the crucial areas of operations, including food quality, customer service, and beverage management. Managers work collaboratively as a team and report directly to the Managing Partner, fostering a supportive and cooperative work environment.
Outback Steakhouse values individuals who are dedicated and fun-loving, recognizing that these qualities are key to maintaining the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of their restaurants. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, they welcome applications from diverse candidates who are passionate about making an impact. For positions based in California, Responsible Beverage Service Certification is required, highlighting the company’s commitment to responsible management and service.
The restaurant manager position at Outback Steakhouse offers an exciting opportunity to join a leading company in the casual dining industry. Managers receive competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, which include health, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid group life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, access to an Employee Assistance Program, a 401(k) plan after eligibility, paid vacation time, and more. The company also offers excellent ongoing training and development opportunities, ensuring that managers are supported throughout their careers. Complimentary manager shift meals and additional benefits such as pet insurance and identity theft protection further enhance the employee experience.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and food service, enjoy leading teams, and are committed to operational excellence. Managers play a critical role in contributing to the restaurant's success by overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, optimizing profitability through cost control, and driving sales and customer satisfaction. They also focus on developing their team members into certified trainers and leaders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth. Passion for the quality and presentation of food, along with maintaining the restaurant's immaculate standards, is essential to this role. If you are energized by a challenging and rewarding environment that values teamwork, training, and top-notch guest experiences, joining Outback Steakhouse as a restaurant manager could be the perfect career move.
