Job Description

The establishment hiring for this position is a restaurant operating under the renowned Del Taco brand, but it is owned and managed by an independent franchisee, not Del Taco LLC itself. This means that the franchisee is the official employer and remains responsible for all employment-related decisions, including hiring, firing, wages, supervision, and scheduling. Del Taco is widely recognized as a fast-casual dining destination specializing in Mexican-American cuisine, known for delivering fresh ingredients, quality customer service, and a fun dining experience. The franchise model allows independent operators to bring the Del Taco experience to local communities with adherence to brand standards yet tailored management and staffing practices to fit the specific regional market and clientele needs.

This restaurant location is situated at 1415 Herndon Ave, Clovis, California, and functions under the property number 1192. The franchisee here is focused on maintaining the high standards synonymous with the Del Taco name while fostering a team-oriented culture aimed at excellent guest experiences, operational efficiency, and growth.

As the Restaurant Manager, the person stepping into this leadership role will directly report to the Area Director and will have a pivotal responsibility to protect and elevate the Del Taco brand within their restaurant. This includes driving sales growth, maximizing profitability, and leading the team in embodying the "Del Taco Way" which focuses on quality, service, cleanliness, and food safety. The manager will need to staff the restaurant with skilled and motivated employees, ensuring all team members are certified through current training procedures and creating an environment that encourages fun, teamwork, and service excellence. This position is crucial in managing performance evaluations, approving salary increases, and handling all disciplinary actions in line with company policies.

Furthermore, the Restaurant Manager will oversee all operational components, including maintaining the facility and customer areas, ensuring equipment is in top condition, upholding high food quality, and following all cleaning and uniform standards. The role also demands strategic involvement in local store marketing efforts to build customer counts and loyalty by capitalizing on community events and local competition knowledge. Achieving sales plans requires ensuring the right staffing aligns with projected sales and driving initiatives to increase customer value and satisfaction.

Financial performance is a key metric for this position. The manager must ensure staffing correlates with actual sales, comply with labor laws, manage inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft, oversee cash handling and audits, and maintain safety standards. Effective vendor management to control costs and achieving predefined budget targets are part of the responsibilities. The position requires flexibility as duties may evolve according to business needs, emergencies, or other operational demands.

In summary, this role requires a seasoned professional with strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The Restaurant Manager is central to safeguarding the brand reputation while pushing business growth and fostering a workplace that promotes learning and career advancement. Successful candidates will not only manage daily operations but lead their team with a forward-looking approach that aligns with the overall success of the Del Taco franchise.
