Job Description

The establishment hiring for this position is a restaurant operating under the Del Taco brand, which is a popular fast-food chain known for its Mexican-inspired menu items, including tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. This particular location at 2400 Mitchell Road, Ceres, CA, is owned and operated by an independent franchisee rather than Del Taco LLC. This means the franchisee acts as the employer and is responsible for all employment-related matters such as hiring, firing, wages, supervision, and staffing. This decentralized model provides flexibility and direct management control at the local level, ensuring a tailored customer service experience as well as adherence to the Del Taco brand standards. The restaurant serves a diverse community in Ceres and focuses on delivering quality food quickly and consistently along with excellent customer service.

The role being offered is for a Restaurant Manager reporting directly to the Area Director. The Restaurant Manager will be the key person responsible for protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand and growing sales while ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the restaurant. This role involves leadership across several key areas, including staff recruitment and retention, creating a positive and customer-focused service culture, maintaining operational and facility standards, and achieving financial targets through careful management of costs and inventory.

The manager will lead a team to foster an environment of fun and teamwork, develop team members and future leaders, ensure compliance with all training and certification requirements, and uphold safety and health standards throughout the restaurant. The Restaurant Manager will also be accountable for executing the Del Taco Way, ensuring all food products meet quality standards and enforcing proper uniforms, signage, and cleanliness.

Performance targets include achieving sales plans, maximizing customer counts and loyalty, executing marketing promotions flawlessly, and managing labor according to sales volume while complying with labor laws. The role demands skills in communication, organization, problem-solving, and analytical thinking, as well as experience in the quick service restaurant industry. Being ServSafe certified and possessing a valid driver's license with vehicle insurance are mandatory.

Physical requirements involve spending extended periods standing, sitting, and working in both office and restaurant environments. The manager must also be able to travel to various restaurant locations within the assigned area, including occasional overnight travel, thereby requiring mobility and flexibility.

This position is ideal for an individual who thrives under pressure, can work independently, and demonstrates a proven ability to lead diverse teams and nurture career development. The employment is at-will and contingent upon meeting federal and state regulations. Del Taco and its franchisee are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and a workplace free from discrimination or harassment, embracing diversity and fostering respect among all employees. This leadership role offers a significant opportunity to impact the operational success and brand reputation of this locally managed Del Taco restaurant.
