Job Description

This job opportunity is within a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee of Del Taco, a well-known fast-food chain specializing in Mexican cuisine with a focus on tacos, burritos, and other quick-service meals. The restaurant is located at 817 W Hammer Ln, Stockton, CA, and is part of the independent franchise system, meaning that the franchisee—not Del Taco LLC—is the employer responsible for all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, wages, and scheduling. This franchise operates under the Del Taco brand but manages its own operations, staffing, and business decisions independently.

As the Restaurant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand experience to customers, ensuring high standards in service, food quality, and cleanliness. Reporting directly to the Area Director, your leadership will be critical in driving sales growth, maximizing efficiency, and enhancing profitability. You will lead your team by implementing the Del Taco Way, a set of brand values and operational standards designed to create a service-oriented culture that promotes teamwork, fun, and career growth.

This full-time position requires you to oversee all restaurant functions, including staffing, training, and development. You will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and retaining a quality team, ensuring all employees are continuously trained and certified to meet company standards. Your leadership will foster a positive work environment while evaluating employee performance, recommending salary adjustments, and managing disciplinary actions as necessary. Developing future managers from within your team is a key focus, contributing to the sustained success of the restaurant and the broader Del Taco brand.

In addition to people management, you will be tasked with operational oversight—maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, facility upkeep, and food quality. You will ensure that the restaurant complies with all health and safety regulations and operational policies, including uniform standards and signage requirements. Your role also involves financial management, such as staffing according to sales projections, controlling labor costs, managing inventory to reduce waste and theft, and conducting cash audits.

The Restaurant Manager will actively work to increase customer counts and sales by identifying market trends, leveraging local store marketing opportunities, and flawlessly executing marketing promotions. You will stay informed about the local competitive landscape and community events to better position the restaurant in its trade area. By focusing on speed and friendly customer service, you will enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Physically, this role entails working in both office and restaurant environments, with demands such as standing, sitting, typing, reaching, bending, and lifting. Travel between restaurant locations in your assigned area is required, including occasional overnight stays. A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance are essential for fulfilling these duties.

Overall, this position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced restaurant professional passionate about the quick-service industry to make a meaningful impact through strong leadership and operational excellence. If you are driven by results and committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience, this managerial role within an independent Del Taco franchise in Stockton is an ideal match.
