The Restaurant Manager role at Del Taco is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring the brand’s promise is reflected in every aspect of the restaurant’s functioning. This full-time position reports directly to the District Manager and offers a competitive salary range of $83,200 to $91,200 annually. The Restaurant Manager leads by example to grow sales, maximize profitability, and maintain operational efficiency in line with the Del Taco Way. This involves managing staffing, recruiting and retaining high-quality team members, fostering a culture of teamwork and service excellence, and ensuring compliance with industry standards in food safety and employee training.

Key responsibilities include maintaining the restaurant facility and equipment to safety and operational standards, delivering consistent service experiences to customers, executing marketing promotions flawlessly, and managing labor costs and inventory to achieve profitability goals. The role demands excellent organizational skills, sharp analytical ability, and strong interpersonal communication to effectively lead a diverse team, handle conflict resolution, and inspire professional growth among team members. The ideal candidate must be ready to work in a fast-paced, dynamic restaurant environment where multitasking, problem-solving, and attention to detail are crucial for success. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in QSR or full service industry
  • ServSafe certification
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a diverse team
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
  • Ability to travel and drive to restaurant locations including occasional overnight stays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years experience in QSR industry or full service concept
  • ServSafe certified
  • Fluent in English
  • Spanish is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and math skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team

Job Duties

  • Fully staff the store with quality people
  • Recruit, hire, and retain all restaurant employees
  • Ensure the entire team is certified according to the current training process at all times
  • Create a service oriented culture
  • Promote an environment of fun and teamwork
  • Evaluate performance and recommend salary increases
  • Recommend, approve, and administer disciplinary action, suspension, and/or termination
  • Develop and grow team members and future managers
  • Execute Del Taco standards and use processes and systems 100% of the time
  • Maintain the facility and customer areas
  • Maintain all equipment to operational and safety standards
  • Deliver only quality products to Del Taco standards every time
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and standards
  • Ensure employees are in proper uniform
  • Ensure a consistent service experience
  • Ensure POP and signage is present and in the approved location
  • Identify and communicate sales goals
  • Ensure the right people are in the right places according to projected/actual sales
  • Increase customer count and check average, and maximize capacity and customer value
  • Identify and execute Local Store Marketing opportunities
  • Stay aware of local events and competition
  • Execute speed and service standards
  • Maintain staffing levels to actual sales
  • Comply with labor laws
  • Accurately order and manage inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft
  • Ensure cash handling procedures and standards are followed
  • Perform cash audits and address issues
  • Execute safety and health standards
  • Minimize repair and maintenance/supplies costs by managing service vendors
  • Achieve and communicate controllable cost targets
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
