Job Description

This job opportunity is with a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, separate from Del Taco LLC. This distinction is crucial as the independent franchisee serves as the direct employer, responsible for all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing, and scheduling decisions. The establishment operates under the well-known Del Taco brand, which is recognized for its fast-casual dining experience specializing in Mexican-inspired foods. As a franchise operation, the restaurant combines the brand's national recognition with local management autonomy, offering a unique employment environment focused on community engagement and high-quality service.

The position advertised is for a Restaurant Manager, a key leadership role within the franchise. Reporting directly to the Area Director, the Restaurant Manager is charged with protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand experience. This role goes beyond basic management, encompassing the growth of sales, maximizing operational efficiency, and ensuring profitability through effective leadership aligned with the principles known as the Del Taco Way. This approach emphasizes exceptional customer service, employee development, operational consistency, and adherence to corporate standards.

The Restaurant Manager’s responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and retaining top-quality staff, fostering a service-oriented culture, and promoting teamwork and fun within the restaurant environment. The manager must ensure that every team member is trained and certified according to current processes and that the entire operation consistently meets the brand's standards. This includes strict adherence to food quality, cleanliness, facility maintenance, and uniform standards to guarantee an optimal customer experience. The manager also plays a pivotal role in achieving sales goals by developing local store marketing strategies, managing staffing relative to sales projections, and actively engaging in community and competitive awareness.

In addition to sales and operations, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for controlling costs and ensuring compliance with labor, safety, and health regulations. This involves inventory management, cash handling, vendor coordination, and maintenance oversight. The manager must create a safe, efficient workplace while driving business growth and staff development, including nurturing future restaurant leaders. The role requires a blend of strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently under pressure and lead a diverse team effectively.

Overall, this position offers a fulfilling career path in the fast-casual dining industry for individuals passionate about restaurant management and brand stewardship. It offers the chance to influence both customer satisfaction and business outcomes positively, supported by a competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth within an established franchise system.
