Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by an independently owned and operated franchise of Del Taco, which means that the franchisee, not Del Taco LLC, will be your direct employer. The franchisee is fully responsible for all employment decisions, including hiring, wages, discipline, and supervision within their restaurant. Del Taco is a well-known fast-casual Mexican-American restaurant chain that emphasizes delivering high-quality food along with excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about leadership in the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry and seek to grow their career within a thriving franchise business model.
The role of the Restaurant Manager involves a comprehensive leadership responsibility where you oversee the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and food quality are continually met. Reporting directly to the Area Director, you will lead your team to uphold the Del Taco brand's reputation by delivering consistent quality and exceptional guest experiences. You will play a crucial role in driving sales growth, operational efficiency, and profitability through effective management and team development.
As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining qualified team members to create a positive and productive work environment. Maintaining a culture focused on service, teamwork, and fun is key to motivating employees and achieving outstanding customer satisfaction. You will support the growth of your staff, including future managers, by evaluating performance, offering coaching opportunities, and making recommendations on salary adjustments and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Operational excellence is at the core of your duties. You must ensure that all food safety and cleanliness standards are rigorously followed and that all equipment and facilities are maintained to meet operational and safety requirements. Your leadership will guarantee that every product meets Del Taco standards before it reaches the customer and that the restaurant consistently presents a welcoming and professional appearance. You will also implement and oversee marketing campaigns and local promotions to drive customer counts and build loyalty, adapting to the competitive landscape and local market dynamics.
Financial management is another critical aspect of the role. You will manage staffing and inventory to optimize labor costs and reduce waste while maintaining service levels. Holding your team accountable for cash handling procedures and conducting regular audits ensures the security of all daily transactions. You are responsible for complying with labor laws and safety regulations and minimizing maintenance and supply expenses by efficiently managing service vendors.
This role demands strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must bring 3 to 5 years of industry experience in either QSR or full-service restaurant operations, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess ServSafe certification. Fluency in English is required, with Spanish language skills considered a plus. The position also requires some travel within the assigned area, including occasional overnight stays, so a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance are necessary.
Joining this franchise means becoming part of a supportive team committed to upholding equal employment opportunities and fostering a respectful workplace environment. Del Taco is dedicated to providing a discrimination-free workplace and values diversity among its employees. If you are a motivated leader who enjoys managing a team, driving sales, and maintaining operational excellence, this Restaurant Manager position offers an exciting path for professional growth within the dynamic fast-food sector.
