The role of the Hourly Restaurant Manager is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant during each shift. Under the supervision of the General Manager and Restaurant Management team, this position oversees various facets of restaurant operations including the bar, floor, support, and host teams. The ideal candidate will act as a key leader on the floor, facilitating seamless service flow and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This position demands strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and problem-solving ability to handle guest issues promptly and uphold the company’s standards, practices, and values.

In addition to managing daily operations, the Hourly Restaurant Manager is entrusted with important responsibilities such as cash handling, business management, and coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house staff. Engaging in pre-shift meetings and continuous communication, the manager fosters a positive work atmosphere that supports the team and enhances the overall guest experience. Attention to detail is vital for monitoring adherence to food safety, hygiene, and alcohol service regulations, as well as maintaining thorough daily records to document shift activities.

This position requires a candidate with at least 2 to 4 years of experience in roles such as server or bartender, and preferably with previous experience as an hourly or key holder manager. Familiarity with restaurant management software such as Toast and 7Shifts is beneficial. A customer-service oriented attitude combined with the ability to motivate and support staff is essential. The position is scheduled for 30 or more hours per week, including the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and pick up additional shifts when necessary. Compliance with South Carolina’s Alcohol Beverage Licensing regulations is mandatory.

Job Duties

  • Facilitate smooth service in all departments by overseeing bar, floor, support, and host teams
  • cash handling and business management in line with company standards and practices
  • coordinate communication between FOH and BOH both prior to shift to run engaging and informative pre-shift meetings and during to facilitate positive guest experience and efficient service
  • supervise FOH staff and provide assistance and support from a corrective coaching perspective
  • keep detailed records and items to include in daily manager’s log
  • monitor compliance with safe alcohol service, food safety, and hygiene regulations
  • handle guest issues in the moment as they come up as a representative of the company’s standards, practices, and values
