Job Description
Outback Steakhouse, renowned as the home of juicy steaks, spirited drinks, and exceptional Aussie hospitality, stands as a pillar of the full-service restaurant industry. Ranked number 1 in Customer Satisfaction within a Full-Service Restaurant for 2023, Outback Steakhouse exemplifies excellence in dining experiences and customer service. This Australian-themed restaurant chain has been delighting guests since its founding in March 1988, bringing a unique blend of serious food quality combined with a lively, fun atmosphere. Owned and operated by Out West Restaurant Group, the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, the brand is committed to fostering a culture that treats both customers and employees with respect and camaraderie, fostering a welcoming environment for all.
Outback Steakhouse takes pride in a company culture where enthusiasm and mutual respect drive both the customer experience and employee satisfaction. Employees, fondly called "Outbackers," are nurtured to grow through comprehensive training programs and supportive management, aligning with the company’s philosophy to treat people "Just Right." The team’s dedication to making every guest feel like a welcome visitor in their own home sets Outback apart in the competitive restaurant landscape. As a testament to its outstanding community involvement and operational success, Out West Restaurant Group was honored with the International Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 for Excellence in Local Community Service.
The role of Restaurant Manager at Outback Steakhouse offers a unique opportunity for skilled and passionate leaders seeking a rewarding career path. Under limited supervision, the Restaurant Manager is charged with overseeing the daily operations of both the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) functions. This role requires a dedication to maintaining company standards, enhancing the customer experience, and providing professional leadership and direction to the team. A comprehensive Manager in Training (MIT) program prepares new managers through an intensive 11-week onsite training, blending previous experience with company-specific expertise to set the foundation for leadership success within the Outback family.
As a Restaurant Manager, you will not only lead but also inspire a team to achieve operational excellence while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and cleanliness. The role demands strategic management of labor, food, and beverage costs to optimize profitability. Managers play a direct role in evolving the business through both sales initiatives and marketing efforts. Recruiting and mentoring new talent is a key part of sustaining the restaurant’s long-term success. The position offers a balanced work schedule targeting a 47-hour work week, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, Outback Steakhouse provides competitive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance plans for employees and their families, paid vacation, sick days, a robust 401k retirement plan, and various supplemental benefits. The environment is both dynamic and supportive, aiming to cultivate leaders who are as enthusiastic about the business as they are about their teams and guests.
Joining Outback Steakhouse means becoming part of a brand that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. The company is committed to creating a workplace where all employees can thrive, with employment decisions based on individual qualifications and business needs. As a Restaurant Manager, you will embody the spirit of Outback hospitality every day, driving success through leadership, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences.
