Job Description
Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, a well-known Australian-themed restaurant brand that first opened its doors in March of 1988. Outback Steakhouse has built a reputation for serving serious food in a setting that is both fun and welcoming. At Outback, there is a unique culture centered around treating people with respect and creating a warm, familial environment. The company prides itself on offering an atmosphere that fosters camaraderie and enthusiasm among its staff, referred to affectionately as "Outbackers." The essence of their service philosophy is summed up in their motto: treat people "Just Right," as success is believed to flow naturally from this foundational principle. The company places a high value on training and development, ensuring that every Outbacker has the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles and contribute meaningfully to the restaurant's success. Outback Steakhouse operates with a focus on exceptional customer indulgence, making every guest feel like they are welcomed into a home away from home. Their management positions are designed to uphold this tradition by ensuring that service, food, and beverage standards remain high, driven by teamwork and support from management partners. New managers go through an extensive Manager in Training (MIT) program, which is a rigorous and comprehensive pathway designed to prepare them for leadership roles within the restaurant. This program emphasizes expertise in Serious Food preparation, Concentrated Service delivery, and Spirited Drinks management. By combining this structured training with previous experience, managers are set up to successfully oversee daily operations and contribute to the restaurant's continued growth and reputation for excellence. Outback Steakhouse is committed to equal opportunity employment and actively seeks dedicated, fun-loving individuals who want to be a crucial part of the restaurant's success. The role of Restaurant Manager at Outback Steakhouse offers an attractive work environment with competitive pay and a suite of benefits aimed at supporting employees' well-being and professional growth. Managers benefit from comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; employer-paid group life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance; short-term and long-term disability coverage; access to an employee assistance program; and eligibility for a 401(k) plan. The company also offers paid vacation, direct deposit payment methods, ongoing training and development opportunities, complimentary manager shift meals, pet insurance, and identity theft protection, among other benefits. These incentives, combined with a positive workplace culture, make Outback a desirable employer for individuals looking to advance their careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry. This Restaurant Manager position is responsible for contributing to the overall success of the restaurant, ensuring continuous employee training and development, optimizing profits through effective labor and inventory management, and growing the business through sales and marketing initiatives. The role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation on every shift. Managers are also tasked with developing Outbackers into Certified Trainers, Keys, and Assistant Culinary Managers, which helps sustain the high standards the brand is known for. They are passionate about the quality and presentation of every dish served and maintain immaculate standards to ensure the restaurant's environment is always organized and welcoming. This is an excellent leadership opportunity for someone enthusiastic about the foodservice industry and motivated to make a positive impact in a vibrant, team-oriented setting.
