Job Description
Our establishment is a distinguished full-service restaurant committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. We pride ourselves on our warm hospitality, quality menu offerings, and an inviting atmosphere that makes every visit memorable. This organization has steadily grown by focusing on both customer satisfaction and employee development, fostering a culture where teamwork and professional growth are highly valued. We operate in a dynamic environment that puts a premium on superior guest service, efficient management of operations, and maintaining a clean, safe, and enjoyable ambiance for patrons and staff alike.
The role we are offering is for a Front of House Supervisor who will play a pivotal role in maintaining and uplifting our restaurant's high standards. This position involves direct supervision of dining room and bar staff, ensuring smooth service delivery during meal periods. The Front of House Supervisor is responsible for a variety of managerial duties including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions. This position requires the supervisor to oversee the daily functioning of the front of house operations, ensuring that all aspects related to guest satisfaction, service quality, and compliance with health and safety regulations are met consistently.
The successful candidate will be entrusted with organizing work schedules to ensure adequate staff coverage and efficient service throughout operating hours. They will also handle inventory and ordering of food, liquor, wines, and other beverages, as well as related supplies. Performance management responsibilities include counseling employees, conducting evaluations, and recommending hiring or termination decisions. The supervisor will also conduct pre-opening inspections and maintain the facility’s cleanliness and organization to prepare for service.
Beyond administrative tasks, the Front of House Supervisor will actively engage in service activities as necessary, assisting servers and bus personnel to uphold effective and prompt guest services. They are expected to monitor food presentation, temperature, and portion control, ensuring all meals adhere to established standards. A critical component of this role includes enforcing compliance with occupational health and safety standards, overseeing banquet functions where applicable, and completing all administrative duties on schedule.
This role requires someone who is analytical, continuously learning, technologically proficient, and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset. Leadership qualities such as fostering teamwork, coaching staff performance, delegating tasks, and managing personnel efficiently are crucial. The supervisor should exemplify strong communication skills, ethics, organizational support, and dependability. A minimum of two years’ related experience within a full-service restaurant environment is necessary, coupled with the ability to obtain a RAMP/TIPS certificate within 90 days of hire.
Physical demands of this position include regular standing and walking, occasional stooping or crouching, and the ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds, making it essential for candidates to possess good physical stamina alongside their hospitality and supervisory skills. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who aspire to grow their career in the vibrant restaurant industry while being part of a passionate, professional team dedicated to excellence in every aspect of front of house operations.
