The Restaurant Manager position at Jose Andres Group is a pivotal role within the Operations department, reporting directly to the General Manager. This salaried, exempt role offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 per year. The Restaurant Manager will play a crucial leadership role in managing the front-of-house service teams to ensure every guest receives a world-class culinary experience. This includes overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and excellence during every shift. The ideal candidate will be a true ambassador of gracious hospitality, maintaining open communication and fostering a positive, respectful work environment. They will be deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional growth, both for themselves and their team members.

In this role, the Manager will not only lead but also teach and inspire the hourly service team, consistently executing and coaching service standards. Being present on the floor during peak hours, they will demonstrate professionalism and handle difficult situations with calm and respect. A significant part of the role is developing strong, trust-based relationships with team members while holding them accountable through clear communication and timely feedback. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for talent recruitment and nurturing as well as ensuring the team's alignment with Jose Andres Group’s vision and values. This leadership extends to managing daily operational tasks such as ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and managing financial outcomes including budgets, inventory, labor, and payroll.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of restaurant management experience
  • Five or more years of restaurant experience
  • Developed communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to perform independently or lead a team
  • Ability to maintain compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of upscale or fine dining service and sales skills
  • Ability to supervise, train and motivate employees
  • Ability to fairly assess and evaluate employee performance
  • Extensive knowledge of the food industry and competitive markets
  • Extensive knowledge of fine dining or upscale restaurant service

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of restaurant management experience
  • At least 5 years of overall restaurant experience
  • Developed communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of upscale or fine dining service and sales skills
  • Ability to supervise, train and motivate multiple levels of employees
  • Ability to assess and evaluate employee performance fairly and consistently
  • Extensive knowledge of food industry, restaurants and competitive markets
  • Extensive knowledge of fine dining or upscale restaurant service and salesmanship

Job Duties

  • Develop, coach and consistently execute service standards
  • Impact service by being on the floor during peak service times

  • Ensure consistent execution of steps of service by using tools such as shopper reports and guest feedback

  • Provide both positive and constructive feedback to the team in a timely manner and document when appropriate

  • Welcome new ideas and seek feedback from the team and GM by asking questions
  • Understand, practice and teach policies and procedures
  • Communicate any major facility or operational emergencies to GM immediately
  • Maintain a detailed daily log to communicate between shifts and prevent issues from reoccurring
  • Regularly conduct service team meetings
  • Provide a safe, clean, organized and sanitary work environment
  • Understand and ensure all ABC laws, Health Standards, federal and state laws are met
  • Correct all violations with a sense of urgency
  • Understand and execute restaurant plan to stay within department budgets and maximize profits
  • Actively manage inventory and waste
  • Demonstrate proficiency in end of shift cash management
  • Effectively manage service labor, scheduling and payroll
  • Proficiency with tools such as Craftable , Open Table and Point of Sales systems
  • Reach out to GM for support and training as needed
