Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant chain that has been serving guests since 1969. Known for its warm hospitality, delicious food, and rustic charm, Cracker Barrel offers more than just a meal — it's a place where community and comfort come together. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, the company takes pride in its roots and values creating a welcoming environment where guests and employees alike feel at home. Cracker Barrel combines comfort food with a unique retail experience, making it a destination that celebrates country living and genuine care. Their commitment to quality service and community-building has made them a leader in the casual dining industry.
The role of a Restaurant Manager at Cracker Barrel is integral to sustaining the brand's valued reputation. As a Restaurant Manager, you are more than a supervisor; you are a leader committed to the holistic dining experience. This position requires overseeing both the front and back of house operations, ensuring that team members reflect the core value of Always Serving Up More Than a Meal. You will be responsible for managing everything from kitchen workflow and inventory control to guest experience and team development. The role demands a balance between operational excellence and people-centered leadership, requiring you to lead with care and inspire your staff through both routine and challenging shifts.
This full-time role typically requires working five 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays, reflecting the restaurant’s busy environment and dedication to customer satisfaction. Candidates generally need to have 2 to 5 plus years of successful restaurant management experience, including at least one year within Cracker Barrel. A valid driver’s license is also a requirement. The position offers a competitive annual salary, along with the potential for merit increases and quarterly bonuses, making it both a rewarding and challenging career opportunity.
Apart from the operational demands, the Restaurant Manager plays a vital role in fostering a culture of belonging and professional growth. Cracker Barrel invests in its managers through continual training, recognition programs, and career advancement possibilities. Over 90 percent of General Manager and District Manager positions are filled from within, showcasing a strong history of promoting talent internally. Additionally, employees benefit from tuition reimbursement and development programs that support long-term career trajectories.
Overall, this role is perfect for someone who thrives in a leadership position that values both people and process, who enjoys creating a memorable dining experience for guests, and who appreciates the blend of tradition and innovation that Cracker Barrel represents. As part of the team, Restaurant Managers contribute significantly to the company’s ongoing success and enduring legacy in the restaurant industry.
