The role of Restaurant Manager at Fixins Soul Kitchen in Detroit is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations and ensuring operational excellence that meets the brand’s high standards. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager leads all departments within the Front of House and plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth, maintaining superior food and beverage quality, and delivering exceptional guest service. Job Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and high-volume full-service restaurant environment
  • Prior Bar Manager experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and labor regulations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Good organizational and time management skills

Job Qualifications

  • Several years experience as a restaurant manager or similar position
  • Good business math skills with the ability to analyze cost reports effectively to drive greater profitability
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to be flexible and adapt in any situation
  • Good computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in internet use and business software such as email, learning management systems, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing large staff in fast paced environment

Job Duties

  • Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs
  • Ensures that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
  • Responsible for hiring great team members, weekly schedules, training and development and overall performance for Fixins Service staff
  • Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures
  • Oversee and ensure that restaurant policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and completed on a timely basis
  • Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests
