Job Description

Denny's is a renowned and established restaurant chain known for its commitment to delivering excellent dining experiences for guests across the United States. Founded in 1953, Denny's has grown to become a staple in the casual dining market, serving a wide range of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options around the clock. With numerous locations, including the property in Salinas, California, Denny's prides itself on being a family-friendly establishment that focuses on quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. The brand emphasizes a welcoming environment for both guests and its employees, fostering teamwork and professional development. Denny's operates a franchise system but strongly maintains corporate standards to safeguard its reputation.

The role of a Restaurant Manager at Denny's is pivotal to the success of each restaurant location. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for supervising a team of approximately 15 to 20 crew members during their assigned shifts. This position is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant, upholding service and quality standards, and delivering a memorable dining experience for guests. The Restaurant Manager works closely with other peer managers and supervisors to support the General Manager in various operational aspects, thus sharing accountability for the overall performance of the restaurant.

This position demands a flexible work schedule, including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis, reflecting the restaurant's 24/7 operating model. Key responsibilities include employee selection, retention efforts, continuous operational improvements, and financial management such as understanding profit and loss statements and cost controls. The Restaurant Manager also ensures all health and safety regulations are met, including sanitation and food safety standards, to maintain a safe and clean environment for both guests and employees.

Denny's offers a competitive salary for this role, ranging from $66,580 to $67,580 annually depending on location and experience. The Restaurant Manager is expected to be a role model, exhibiting the company’s principles and values in all interactions, fostering a respectful and inclusive culture, and focusing intensely on guest satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Restaurant Manager also plays a significant role in driving growth by assisting with local store marketing initiatives and ensuring suggestive selling techniques are effectively implemented.

Overall, the Restaurant Manager is a key leadership figure within the Denny's team, instrumental in managing daily operations, leading employee development, and enhancing the guest experience to ensure repeat business and long-term success of the restaurant.
