Job Description

Olive Garden is a leading casual dining restaurant known for its exceptional Italian cuisine and warm, welcoming atmosphere. With over 870 restaurant locations spread across the United States and Canada, Olive Garden has built a strong reputation as a family-oriented establishment that values its employees just as much as its guests. This restaurant chain has a deep commitment to quality, not only in the food it serves but also in the workplace environment it fosters. Olive Garden believes that its winning family starts with the dedicated individuals who contribute their talents, passion, and energy to creating memorable dining experiences for customers. The culture here is one of support, growth, and balance—making it an ideal place for hospitality professionals looking to advance their careers while maintaining a positive work-life balance.

The Restaurant Manager position at Olive Garden demands a dynamic and motivated leader who is accountable, people-focused, and results-oriented. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Restaurant Managers are entrusted with the critical responsibility of leading and inspiring their teams to deliver outstanding service consistently, while maintaining operational excellence. The role requires a strong ability to build and nurture relationships, exhibit initiative, and uphold the company’s values of family and community. As a Restaurant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a team environment where flexibility and quality of life are prioritized. The company ensures that managers regularly work no more than a 50-hour workweek, enjoy two days off, and take at least one weekend off per month, all while receiving competitive pay, including quarterly bonuses based on performance.

Olive Garden invests significantly in the career growth of its employees. The majority of General Managers and Directors of Operations are promoted from within, highlighting the robust training and development programs available. Employees benefit from comprehensive tuition reimbursement plans, assistance with student loans, and continuous education to build their expertise and advance their hospitality careers. The company emphasizes its commitment to employee well-being by offering flexible paid time off options, including vacation, flex time, maternity and paternity leave, adoption reimbursement assistance, and paid time to care for family members after one year of service.

In addition to career development, Olive Garden provides a strong benefits package that includes immediate eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid short-term disability, and life insurance. Managers also enjoy discounts at over 100,000 merchants ranging from cell phones to childcare and clothing, enhancing their quality of life both at work and at home. After one year of service, eligible employees gain access to a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match of up to 120% on the first 6% of earnings, a Retirement Plus benefit contributing 1.5% of eligible salary to the 401(k) account, and participation in the Darden Employee Stock Purchase Program with a 15% discount.

Olive Garden’s commitment extends beyond its internal community. The company has donated more than 44 million pounds of food to fight hunger and provided over $30 million in grants to its team members through an emergency assistance fund. With $6.5 million donated to food banks across all 50 states, Olive Garden actively supports the communities it serves. Safety and sanitation remain top priorities, especially in alignment with CDC guidelines for COVID-19, ensuring a safe environment for guests, team members, and managers alike.

For the right individual, this Restaurant Manager role offers not just a job but a career path filled with opportunities for growth, competitive compensation, and a workplace culture that truly values family and community. At Olive Garden, "We're All Family Here!" Join a team where your passion for hospitality, leadership skills, and commitment to customer service will be nurtured and rewarded.
