BURGER KING is a globally recognized leader in the fast-food industry, renowned for its signature menu offerings and commitment to quality since its founding in 1954. As the second largest fast food hamburger chain worldwide, BURGER KING serves over 11 million guests daily in its family-friendly restaurants that pride themselves on premium ingredients, unique recipes, and a memorable dining experience. The brand's legacy as the original home of the Whopper has established it as a popular and trusted choice for millions of customers. BURGER KING is dedicated to maintaining high operational standards and embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in its workforce. As an equal opportunity employer, the company encourages all qualified candidates to apply and grow within its ranks.
The role of the Restaurant Manager at BURGER KING is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations to ensure profitability, excellent guest experience, effective team management, and compliance with brand standards. As the executive leader of a single restaurant, this full-time position entails managing a team that typically includes an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20 to 45 Team Members. Reporting to a District Manager, the Restaurant Manager (RGM) carries primary accountability for the restaurant's profit and loss performance, actively driving financial outcomes through targeted operational strategies.
In this role, the Restaurant Manager plays a critical role in motivating and directing the restaurant team to provide superior guest service that is accurate, friendly, and efficient within a clean and welcoming facility. The RGM handles guest relations by addressing feedback and responding quickly to issues to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. This role also includes community engagement and local marketing initiatives, aimed at boosting patronage by attracting new and repeat guests.
From a people management perspective, the Restaurant Manager leads recruitment, selection, onboarding, and continued development of restaurant staff. By implementing certification processes and recognition programs, the RGM fosters employee growth and team collaboration. The manager provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management for individuals and groups to enhance restaurant productivity and employee satisfaction.
Operationally, the RGM ensures that labor costs are optimized through strategic scheduling and staffing decisions, while strictly enforcing compliance with all governmental regulations, employment laws, and Burger King corporate policies. The Restaurant Manager is prepared to step in and perform duties of assistant managers and shift coordinators when necessary to maintain smooth operations.
This comprehensive leadership role requires strong business acumen, particularly in P&L management, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and lead a diverse team through the dynamic environment of the quick-service restaurant industry. Candidates must be ready to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support restaurant needs. Overall, the Restaurant Manager role at BURGER KING offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with the backing of a trusted global brand, fostering both personal and professional growth within the hospitality and food service sector.
