The restaurant is currently hiring for a full-time or part-time Restaurant Line Cook position. This role is critical within the kitchen team, as line cooks work directly under the guidance of the culinary management team to ensure that all menu items are prepared exactly according to Chuy's specifications. A restaurant line cook at Chuy's - Franklin is responsible for preparing and plating dishes in an efficient, safe, and sanitary manner while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong cooking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

In this role, you will be expected to adhere strictly to food safety protocols and workplace sanitation requirements, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets exact recipe and plating standards. You will be responsible for setting up your station with the proper ingredients, utensils, and equipment before each shift, prioritizing cooking and preparation times, and handling special guest requests with flexibility and care. The line cook must maintain organization and cleanliness throughout shifts and help set up the kitchen for the next service period. Collaboration and teamwork are paramount, as you will be working closely with kitchen staff and management to achieve daily production goals and deliver a consistent, high-quality dining experience to guests.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience as a line cook or in a similar food preparation role is advantageous
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • availability to work full-time or part-time shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • willing to comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Job Qualifications

  • ability to memorize and replicate recipe and menu item production procedures
  • possess the physical stamina to stand working for up to 10 hours
  • consistently capable of meeting deadlines and production goals with limited supervision
  • comfortable working in an environment that may experience significant temperature changes
  • handle stressful situations in a positive and supportive manner
  • ServSafe (Food Handlers Certification) is a plus but can be obtained after starting

Job Duties

  • Adhering to all food safety and workplace sanitation requirements
  • ensuring every item on station is produced to exact recipe and plating specifications
  • meeting daily productivity standards as established by kitchen management
  • setting up station with sufficient product and utensils and preparing cooking and food holding equipment to ensure the station is ready for meal service
  • prioritizing cooking and preparation times of each order to ensure timely delivery of guest meals
  • willingly adjusting ingredients and menu item preparation standards to accommodate guest special preparation requests
  • setting the next meal shift up for success by properly cleaning work stations, equipment and utensils, and maintaining an organized food storage area
  • executing all position responsibilities in the spirit of proactive teamwork and cooperation
  • making sure all duties and sidework have been completed to standard at the end of their shift
  • performing additional tasks and projects as assigned
