The role of Restaurant Line Cook - Hot Side at Urban Plates is a vital position within their kitchen team, specifically focusing on food preparation and production across the Bowls, Carve/Grill, Soup, and Braise stations. This position demands meticulous attention to detail in following recipes and procedures to produce visually appealing, high-quality hot dishes in alignment with Urban Plates’ standards. Line cooks are expected to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and safety while working efficiently to meet guest needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a line cook preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to follow health and safety standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working as a line cook, especially in fast-casual or similar restaurant environments preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions accurately
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively
  • Willingness to participate in training and cross-training programs

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items for the hot side stations, including Bowls, Carve/Grill, Soup, and Braise
  • Ensure all dishes are made according to Urban Plates’ recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen hot side area
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock as needed
  • Follow all health and safety protocols in food handling and kitchen operations
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely food service and guest satisfaction
