Job Description

Thornberry Creek at Oneida is a distinguished golf and event destination located in Northeast Wisconsin, specifically perched atop one of the highest points in Brown County. Known as the official golf course of the Green Bay Packers and a former host of the LPGA Tour, Thornberry Creek offers 27 holes of championship golf set against stunning natural ridge views. This venue is more than just a golf course; it is a vibrant hub for exceptional hospitality featuring a diverse array of food and beverage operations including a bustling Sports Pub & Grill, an expansive outdoor patio dining area, and the versatile Hawks Crest Ballroom which accommodates weddings, banquets, and corporate events for as many as 300 guests year-round.

The available position is for a Line Cook, either full-time or part-time, within the Culinary / Food & Beverage department. The successful candidate will join a dynamic kitchen team at Thornberry Creek at Oneida, contributing to the high standards of food preparation and dining experience expected at such a premier location. This role demands reliability, passion, and energy as the Line Cook will handle both preparation and execution of meals either for golfers enjoying a meal at the Sports Pub & Grill or managing pub dishes during peak hours.

Responsibilities of the Line Cook include setting up and stocking kitchen stations, preparing high-quality food according to specified recipes and menu standards, and maintaining speed and accuracy during high-volume service periods without compromising food quality or presentation. The Line Cook must strictly adhere to state health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, ensuring that temperature controls are maintained and workstations remain clean and safe. Collaborative team work is essential, as the cook will work closely with banquet cooks, dishwashers, and service staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Inventory management is also part of the role, including monitoring supplies, minimizing food waste, and coming to terms with the proper operation and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment.

Additional duties involve assisting with closing responsibilities such as station cleanup and dishwashing, and supporting banquet preparation and execution when necessary. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of an established and respected venue, with a competitive hourly wage based on experience and additional unique perks including golf privileges, employee discounts on food, beverage, and pro shop merchandise, flexible scheduling options, and promising opportunities for career growth within a dynamic culinary team.

Thornberry Creek at Oneida encourages candidates with at least one year of line cook or commercial kitchen experience, especially those with a background in high-volume grill, sauté, or banquet preparation, to apply. Strong knife skills, a working knowledge of standard cooking methods, kitchen tools, and food safety practices are required, alongside the physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Reliability and punctuality are important, as well as a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. A positive, team-oriented mindset and the ability to maintain composure under pressure are vital for success in this role.

If you are eager to contribute your culinary skills in a setting that values quality, teamwork, and dedication, Thornberry Creek at Oneida offers a fulfilling and supportive work environment that may be the perfect next step in your career.
