Job Description
Main Event - Norman is a dynamic entertainment and dining establishment located in Norman, Oklahoma, known for providing a vibrant and engaging experience for guests of all ages. The venue combines a unique blend of thrilling attractions with an inviting restaurant atmosphere, making it a popular destination for families, friends, and groups seeking fun and delicious dining options. Main Event is committed to offering exceptional service, memorable experiences, and high-quality food prepared in a safe and welcoming environment. As part of a larger chain that focuses on entertainment and cuisine, Main Event - Norman prides itself on being a community-friendly establishment that values teamwork, creativity, and operational excellence.
The role of a Restaurant Line Cook at Main Event - Norman is crucial to maintaining the quality and efficiency of the kitchen operations. This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, providing flexibility for candidates while ensuring consistent excellence in food preparation. The line cook will be working under the detailed guidance of the culinary management team, helping to execute all menu items to exact recipe specifications and plate presentations. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong attention to detail, pride in their craft, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced kitchen environment. The position also emphasizes a strong focus on food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring that all meals are prepared in compliance with health regulations.
This role requires the individual to manage multiple line stations, prioritizing tasks to meet specific production times without compromising the quality or presentation of dishes. Supporting team collaboration and communication is essential, as is the readiness to accommodate special guest requests and dietary modifications. Beyond cooking, the line cook is responsible for prepping their station, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing food storage at the end of each shift. Additionally, the position encourages proactive teamwork and a positive attitude towards completing sidework and additional projects as assigned.
Candidates for this role should have the physical stamina to stand for extended periods, often up to 10 hours, and thrive in environments that experience temperature changes typical of kitchen settings. While previous experience in a similar role and a food handler’s certification such as ServSafe is advantageous, Main Event - Norman also offers opportunities to obtain necessary certifications after hiring. This position offers an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals and aspiring cooks looking to grow their skills in a supportive and energetic setting. Join Main Event - Norman’s culinary team to contribute to a dynamic kitchen operation while enjoying a flexible work schedule and the chance to be part of an innovative entertainment dining destination.
