The role of Host/Hostess at Ruth's Chris Steak House is a pivotal position within Prime Hospitality Group. Known for its signature sizzle and unparalleled steakhouse experience, Ruth's Chris has been a leader in fine dining for over 50 years. As the first point of contact for guests, Hosts and Hostesses play an essential role in creating warm, welcoming environments that set the tone for every guest's visit, whether it is an intimate dinner or a large corporate event. Under the guidance of the General Manager, this position involves managing the flow of guests, overseeing seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation at the restaurant's entrance. The Host/Hostess ensures that guests feel valued and comfortable from the moment they arrive. Key responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the hostess area, handling phone reservations courteously and accurately, and assisting team members to manage guest waiting times effectively.

Job Duties

  • ensure cleanliness and organization of the hostess area throughout your shift
  • communicate with the manager on duty regarding any guest concerns to maintain high satisfaction levels
  • answer phone calls pleasantly and take accurate reservations
  • greet arriving guests, take their names, and manage seating while directing guests to proper waiting areas
  • assist fellow team members to enhance the overall guest experience, ensuring that waiting times are accurately communicated and managed
  • uphold all operational guidelines and standards while fostering a positive environment that encourages teamwork and communication
  • obtain staffing assignments and accurately complete all pre-shift duties in a timely manner
  • assist in planning and assigning reservations with the manager on duty
