Job Description
Pueblo of Sandia operates a distinguished dining establishment that is committed to delivering exceptional guest service and memorable dining experiences. As a respected entity within the hospitality and restaurant industry, Pueblo of Sandia adheres to a philosophy built on integrity, fairness, collaboration, communication, and recognition for performance excellence. This approach fosters a positive environment that attracts and retains a qualified workforce, provides growth opportunities for team members, and continually contributes to the establishment's ongoing success both today and well into the future.
The establishment takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of service, cleanliness, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. Their restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere where courteous, attentive interaction with guests forms the cornerstone of their service delivery. Guests are greeted warmly, seated appropriately, and supported throughout their dining experience according to high service benchmarks.
The available role is for a Host position, a crucial point of contact who embodies the values and standards of the Pueblo of Sandia brand. This role is essential in managing the front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth seating arrangements, and effectively managing guest inquiries and concerns. The Host will provide direction and guidance to assistant staff, delegate tasks such as table setting, closely monitor and improve assistant staff performance, and foster a positive, cohesive team environment. This position demands excellent organizational and communication skills, a pleasant disposition, and strong menu knowledge, along with a commitment to upholding cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Additionally, the Host will work collaboratively with kitchen, management, and serving staff, maintaining communication to ensure seamless service. They are responsible for managing reservations, seating flow, and handling guest complaints professionally to their satisfaction. The position requires physical stamina, as it involves standing, walking, lifting up to 100 lbs, and the ability to perform various physical activities that support the demands of a busy restaurant setting.
This job presents a progression path offering opportunities for advancement from Host to Server Support, Server, Supervisor, and ultimately Manager. Success in this role is measured through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that allow for objective performance review and feedback.
The role requires the ability to successfully pass a stringent background check, pre-employment and random drug screenings, and obtaining a Food Handlers certification upon hire. The host will be working primarily indoors with occasional exposure to outdoor environments and potential hazards such as cleaning chemicals and equipment. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed is also essential.
In summary, this Host position at Pueblo of Sandia is ideal for energetic, organized, and personable individuals who have a passion for hospitality and teamwork. It provides a stable foundation for career growth within a supportive and professional work environment dedicated to excellence in guest service and team success.
