The role of Host at Eataly’s restaurants is pivotal, serving as the first and last point of contact for guests. This position requires a blend of hospitality skills, organizational ability, and a warm personality to ensure a smooth and welcoming dining experience. Hosts are responsible for greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, balancing guest flow, and maintaining an accurate waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system. The Host’s proactive role is essential in keeping service flowing efficiently, contributing to both guest satisfaction and overall restaurant operations. The Host reports directly to the General Manager of Restaurants and Restaurant Floor Managers, acting as a critical communication link within the team. With an hourly compensation rate of $16.60 plus tips, this onsite position often requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours including standing walking bending and squatting

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in a high-volume restaurant
  • basic computer skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet guests upon arrival and departure
  • manage seating arrangements to maintain flow during service
  • oversee and update waitlist and seating charts using computerized systems
  • handle reservations where applicable
  • balance guest seating between service stations accommodating special requests
  • escort guests to tables and introduce servers
  • assist servers and bus persons to maintain effective service
  • perform other duties as assigned
