The role of Restaurant Host at PebbleBeach Company places you at the welcoming forefront of guests’ dining experiences at the company’s celebrated food and beverage outlets. The Restaurant Host will oversee dining room activities, maintain a clean and organized environment, and assist with reservations, seating arrangements, and the coordination of guest needs alongside the dining and kitchen staff. High school diploma or equivalent
previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred

Job Duties

Oversee and assist in maintaining cleanliness of outlet
ensure coverage of the entrance, greeting arriving guests and thanking those that are leaving
assist with special event or buyout set-ups, such as moving tables, running food or bussing
check reservations in book and assign table numbers
ensure availability for resort guests
call to confirm reservations and large parties
complete all assigned tasks given by manager or supervisor
check all menus for cleanliness and accuracy
answer telephone, take reservations and give directions to restaurant
maintain waiting list, select table and escort guests to the table
resolve guest problems whenever possible and involve manager when necessary
answer questions regarding menu items, company history and The Hay golf course
schedule reservations according to established procedures
bring guests' needs to the attention of appropriate dining room staff or management
assist clearing and bussing tables when applicable
check reservations in book and IG, and assign table numbers
check Zomato for reservations and maintain waves
call to confirm large parties and schedule reservations
create a great welcome and arrival experience, smile and escort guests to table
take guests' food and drink orders when business necessitates
monitor alcohol consumption and behavior of guests alerting a manager of any intoxicated or questionable guests
observe guests' progress and respond in a timely way to their needs
assist in side work such as rollup, menus, condiments and any other prep for the next shift
assist in food running to bar and tables when applicable
remove used dishes and maintain tables during meal by replacing utensils as necessary and refolding napkins
follow Pebble Beach Company cash handling policies and procedures
comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety, health and general policies and procedures
