We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and customer-focused Host to join our dynamic team. This role is integral in setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience, acting as the first and last point of contact for our guests. The Host will embody the spirit of New Orleans hospitality by warmly welcoming guests, efficiently managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring smooth operations within the dining area. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure, and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding service.

The Host will efficiently manage the reservation system, strategically balance server sections, and provide guests with a warm introduction to their dining journey. Additionally, the Host will handle guest inquiries with grace and escalate issues when necessary. This role also involves supporting the service team with tasks such as polishing silverware and managing takeout and delivery orders during busy periods. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Experience in high-volume restaurant or customer service environments is preferred but not mandatory. This position offers a competitive pay starting at $15.00 per hour with flexible weekly hours ranging from 17 to 40 hours. Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience of 1 year or more in a high-volume restaurant or customer service role preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, professional phone manner
  • Ability to interact positively with guests and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Familiarity with reservation software such as OpenTable and POS systems is a plus
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Must possess a positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to exceptional guest service reflective of New Orleans culture
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, sometimes loud, environment

Job Duties

  • Warmly welcome and acknowledge every guest upon arrival with genuine New Orleans hospitality
  • Efficiently manage the reservation system, OpenTable, and walk-in waitlists, ensuring accurate quoting of wait times
  • Strategically manage the dining room floor plan and server sections to ensure balanced workload distribution and optimal guest flow
  • Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and providing a brief, informative introduction to their server and the dining area
  • Monitor dining status of seated tables to accurately anticipate table turnover
  • Politely and professionally handle guest inquiries, complaints, or seating disputes, escalating issues to management when necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and lobby area
  • Process and coordinate takeout and delivery orders as required
  • Assist the service team with basic tasks such as polishing silverware, folding napkins, and running non-alcoholic beverages during peak periods
  • Ensure all menus are clean, properly stocked, and current
  • Assist in opening and closing duties for the host stand, including preparing reservation notes and summarizing daily statistics
