The General Manager role at Border Foods is a cornerstone of the company’s mission to improve the lives of both employees and guests. As a General Manager, you are expected to embody and reinforce Border Foods’ core values through every aspect of your job. The General Manager also plays a pivotal role in managing scheduling, performance tracking, and compliance with health and safety guidelines, all while ensuring the customer experience remains outstanding.

General Managers motivate staff through active listening, effective communication, and by fostering a culture that recognizes and celebrates achievements. Operational excellence is another vital responsibility, involving strategic planning, financial management through P&L interpretation, and strict labor and inventory control.

Border Foods offers highly competitive compensation, with General Managers having the potential to earn up to $100,000 annually through base pay and bonuses, including a lucrative bonus program that can add up to $40,000 per year. This leadership position requires flexibility, including working early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and some holidays as necessary, to meet the needs of the business. To qualify, candidates should possess a minimum of three years of restaurant or retail experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be ServeSafe certified. A valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance are also required. General Managers must be at least 18 years old and ready to commit at least 50 hours per week to ensure the success and smooth operation of their restaurant.
