Job Description

Border Foods started as a vision of two brothers with a passion for Mexican cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Today, Border Foods is recognized as one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. With a strong foundation rooted in family values and community, Border Foods has grown significantly, yet it continues to prioritize a people-first approach. The company culture focuses on mutual respect, collaboration, and ongoing personal and professional growth, making it an attractive employer for those who seek meaningful careers in the restaurant industry.

As a fast-growing restaurant franchise operator, Border Foods offers diverse opportunities for team members, from entry-level positions to leadership roles spanning multiple locations. The organization emphasizes the importance of Core Values: Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These guiding principles shape how the company operates daily and how it nurtures its workforce and engages with customers.

The General Manager role at Border Foods is both challenging and rewarding. As the frontline leader in each restaurant, the General Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the restaurant. This includes building and leading a strong and effective team that consistently delivers excellent customer service and top-notch food quality in a clean and welcoming environment. This leadership position is pivotal to ensuring the restaurant meets its financial goals while fostering a positive workplace culture that supports employee development and satisfaction.

General Managers at Border Foods have the unique opportunity to directly impact both the customer’s dining experience and the professional growth of restaurant staff. The role requires an individual capable of strategic planning, problem-solving, and hands-on management. Managing budgets, interpreting profit and loss statements, controlling labor costs, and minimizing waste are all critical operational components. Additionally, General Managers are tasked with hiring, training, and retaining talented team members, ensuring health and safety standards are consistently upheld, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Border Foods offers competitive compensation, with General Managers earning up to $100,000 annually, including base pay and incentive bonuses. The reward package includes a variety of benefits such as health and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, scholarships, paid vacation, holiday pay, and even free food. The company also values a strong culture of recognition and career growth, supporting their General Managers through continuous education and development programs.

The ideal candidate for this role is a motivated, passionate individual with at least three years of experience in restaurant or retail management and a proven track record in sales growth, staff recruitment, and retention. Being ServeSafe certified and possessing a high school diploma or equivalent are essential. Flexibility to work varied hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, along with a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Border Foods is committed to providing a safe and supportive workplace where every team member can thrive. The company prides itself on diversity and inclusion, welcoming minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities. As a franchisee of Taco Bell, Border Foods operates independently but is deeply dedicated to the Taco Bell brand standards and guest satisfaction. Join Border Foods and become part of a family-oriented company where you can grow your career, help shape the future of fast food dining, and make a meaningful difference in your community.
