Job Description

Border Foods is one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America, founded by two brothers who shared a vision of creating exceptional Mexican dining experiences. Over the years, Border Foods has grown from a small idea into a thriving business that values a people-first mantra. This family-oriented company operates numerous Taco Bell restaurants across the country, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, integrity, and excellence in every aspect of its operations. Border Foods is dedicated to fostering a supportive and welcoming environment where employees at all levels can learn, grow, and contribute to the company's mission of making lives better. The company culture centers on core values such as Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment, which guide day-to-day operations and employee interactions.

The General Manager role at Border Foods is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire restaurant operation. The General Manager is charged with building a strong, effective team and ensuring that customers receive great food and friendly service in a safe and welcoming environment. This role requires strong leadership skills to inspire and guide team members while upholding Border Foods’ core values. The General Manager fosters a positive workplace culture by motivating the team, maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Income potential for this position is competitive within the restaurant industry, offering base pay up to $100,000 annually, supplemented by an attractive bonus program that could add up to $40,000 more, recognizing outstanding performance. Exceptional performers have the opportunity to join an exclusive annual trip to Mexico, celebrating the Best of the Best General Managers. Border Foods also offers a comprehensive benefits package inclusive of medical, dental, and vision insurance for all employees, even part-time workers. Additional perks include free food, paid vacation and sick leave, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and educational programs to support employee development.

This role requires a dedicated leader who can strategically plan both short and long-term goals, manage profit and loss responsibly, and implement efficient labor, inventory, and waste management practices. The General Manager works closely with team members and shift leaders to meet business goals, handle customer concerns with empathy, and cultivate a culture of recognition and support that enhances job satisfaction and retention. With a commitment to ongoing coaching, development, and empowerment, Border Foods encourages its leaders to build their teams' capabilities while identifying areas for growth and improvement.

Physical demands of the job include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours, and some flexibility with scheduling is necessary to meet business needs, including early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. This exempt management position typically requires a minimum of 50 hours per week.

Border Foods is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming candidates from diverse backgrounds including minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities. The company promotes an inclusive culture that does not discriminate based on gender identity or sexual orientation. Candidates should note that employment is with the franchisee operation of Taco Bell, not Taco Bell Corporation or its affiliates, giving the franchisee independence to set wages and benefits that may vary.
