Job Description
Border Foods started as a simple idea between two brothers who dreamed of opening a Mexican restaurant and has since evolved into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. This family-owned business is driven by a people-first mantra, emphasizing the importance of every employee from cooks to cashiers to restaurant managers, all working collectively to bring to life the core values of Border Foods. Their mission is clear: to make lives better by nurturing an environment where employees can learn, grow, and develop while delivering exceptional experiences to their customers. With a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, teamwork, and empowerment, Border Foods has established itself as not only a thriving business but also a welcoming and supportive workplace that values each person's contribution.
The role of the General Manager at Border Foods is a critical leadership position focused on reinforcing these core values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. As a General Manager, you are entrusted with the overall operation of a restaurant location, where your leadership directly impacts the team's success and customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibility is to create safe, welcoming, and supportive environments where both employees and guests can thrive. By fostering a strong, unified team, you will help consistently deliver great food with friendly, efficient service, ensuring every visitor leaves with a positive experience.
This position offers a competitive compensation package with potential earnings up to $100,000 annually, combining base pay with top-tier bonus opportunities. The job also comes with numerous rewarding benefits, such as a yearly incentive trip to Mexico for top-performing General Managers, education programs including GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits available even to part-time employees. Additional perks include free food, paid vacation time, sick and holiday pay, and the opportunity to participate in the unique Vacation Donation Program which supports team members in times of need.
The General Manager is a strategic planner, responsible for crafting short and long-term strategies that drive restaurant profitability and success. You will manage all aspects of team recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training to ensure team members excel in their roles and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Maintaining strict adherence to food safety standards, cash handling procedures, and operational policies is essential to protecting the brand and guaranteeing a high-quality customer experience. Leadership duties extend beyond operations to include motivating the team through active listening, communication, employee recognition, and timely coaching.
This leadership role requires a proactive individual capable of navigating complex challenges and delivering solutions that promote a safe and supportive work environment. You will be a role model who instills core values across your team and serves as an ambassador for Border Foods in handling customer concerns with sincerity and collaboration. As a General Manager, your efforts accelerate the personal and professional growth of your team and unlock their full potential, contributing to the ongoing success of the restaurant and the Border Foods family as a whole.
