Job Description

Burger King is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain that has been serving high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food since its founding in 1954. As the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world, Burger King has built its brand on its commitment to premium ingredients, signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences. Every day, more than 11 million guests visit Burger King restaurants worldwide, making it a leader in the fast-food industry. The company's extensive reach and strong brand reputation provide an exciting and dynamic environment for employees to grow and succeed.

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at Burger King plays a critical executive leadership role responsible for driving the financial success and overall operations of a single restaurant location. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM oversees all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations, leading a team that includes an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20-45 team members. The RGM is accountable for the restaurant’s profitability, guest satisfaction, employee development, and operational excellence.

This full-time role offers a competitive opportunity for individuals with a passion for leadership in the fast-food industry. The RGM is entrusted with managing the restaurant's P&L (profit and loss) statement, actively seeking opportunities to improve financial outcomes by reviewing critical P&L lines and implementing strategies that increase sales and control costs. Success in this role requires a hands-on approach to motivating and directing team members to provide exceptional guest service in a clean and welcoming environment. The RGM ensures guest expectations are not only met but exceeded by managing operational workflows and responding promptly to any guest concerns.

In addition to guest-focused duties, the RGM actively engages in community outreach and local marketing initiatives to attract prospective guests and enhance the restaurant’s visibility. At the heart of the role is the development and retention of a high-performing team, from recruitment and onboarding of new employees to delivering ongoing training and recognition. The RGM provides coaching and constructive feedback to all staff levels to foster individual growth and elevate overall restaurant performance.

From an operational standpoint, the RGM manages labor costs through optimal scheduling of managers and team members, ensures compliance with government regulations and company policies, and maintains the restaurant’s adherence to brand and operational standards. When needed, the RGM steps in to perform duties of the Assistant Manager or Hourly Shift Coordinator to ensure smooth restaurant functioning.

This role requires a strong leader with demonstrated skills in restaurant management, profit and loss understanding, and guest service. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts is essential to meet the demands of the restaurant environment. Overall, the Restaurant General Manager at Burger King is a pivotal position that offers both challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful impact on restaurant success and guest experiences.
