Job Description
Border Foods is a thriving and vibrant franchisee of Taco Bell, recognized as one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. Founded from a simple idea between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant, Border Foods has grown remarkably over the years, establishing a strong presence in the quick-service restaurant industry. This company fosters a people-first philosophy, emphasizing the importance of every role within the organization, from cooks to cashiers, restaurant managers, and beyond. At the heart of Border Foods is a commitment to uphold its Core Values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment, which guide daily operations and help shape a positive and inclusive work environment.
As a General Manager at Border Foods, you will play an integral role in continuing the company's mission to make lives better. The position offers both a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead restaurant operations in a way that promotes growth for employees while ensuring guests receive high-quality food and an exceptional service experience. It is a leadership role demanding your full dedication as you oversee the entire restaurant's functioning, build and support a strong team, and create a safe and welcoming atmosphere where everyone can thrive. This is an exempt management position, expected to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including variable shifts that may require early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation is competitive, with top pay in the industry ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 annually, bolstered by a lucrative bonus program with potential earnings up to $40,000 annually.
Border Foods also actively supports career advancement and personal development. Employees are offered educational programs including GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarships, and a vacation donation program. Benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance are available for all team members, including part-time staff. Additionally, the company values culture deeply, fostering an environment of encouragement, recognition, and teamwork. Every year, the best performers, including General Managers, are rewarded with a trip to Mexico, celebrating excellence and dedication within the company.
Your role as General Manager is centered on reinforcing the Border Foods Core Values through daily leadership that promotes accountability and integrity. You will be responsible for scheduling the team, monitoring their performance, ensuring the delivery of safe, quality food, and an outstanding customer service experience. Family and teamwork are equally prioritized, requiring you to build strong relationships, manage conflict effectively, and create a safe workplace for employees and guests alike. Excellence is pursued through strategic planning, financial oversight including P&L management, efficient labor and inventory control, hiring and training top talent, and minimizing losses. Empowerment involves building capabilities within your team by providing learning opportunities, coaching, and sharing resources to foster personal and business growth.
As the General Manager, your influence extends beyond operational tasks to shaping the culture and success of Border Foods locations. Your leadership ensures that the brand’s values are alive in every customer interaction and each team member’s experience. If you are an individual driven by results with a passion for developing people and leading a high-performance team in a dynamic environment, Border Foods provides a platform to make a significant impact and grow professionally within one of the most exciting environments in the restaurant industry.
