Job Description

Border Foods is one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America, founded by two brothers who began with the idea of opening a Mexican restaurant. Over time, Border Foods has grown into a well-respected company dedicated to delivering excellent food and superior customer experiences. The company operates with a people-first mantra, emphasizing the importance of every team member, from cooks to cashiers to restaurant managers. At Border Foods, the culture revolves around their core values: Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These values shape daily operations and create an environment where employees can learn, evolve, and contribute to the mission of making lives better. Border Foods offers a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where team members thrive, and guests feel welcomed and valued.

As a General Manager with Border Foods, you will play a vital role in upholding and reinforcing the company’s core values. Your mission will be to lead by example in creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments where both employees and guests can have positive experiences. This position holds full responsibility for the operation of the restaurant, ensuring that the establishment runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. You will build and develop a strong team that consistently provides great food and friendly service to customers.

The General Manager position offers competitive compensation, with the potential to earn up to $100,000 annually when combining base pay and top-tier bonus opportunities. Additionally, top performers receive unique rewards such as an annual trip to Mexico, recognizing excellence within the company. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about people management, operational excellence, and fostering a positive team-oriented culture. Through education programs, including GED and tuition reimbursement, and scholarship opportunities, Border Foods invests in the personal and professional development of each team member.

In this role, you will be accountable for maintaining health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and upholding quality standards in food preparation and customer service. You will manage scheduling, monitor team performance, and handle any employee issues promptly to maintain a smooth operational flow. The General Manager will also be responsible for financial aspects including interpreting profit and loss statements, controlling labor costs, managing inventory, and minimizing waste.

Border Foods emphasizes teamwork and family by cultivating unity within the restaurant team. You will foster cross-functional relationships, respond thoughtfully to employee questions, and maintain a safe and positive workplace for all. Customer satisfaction is a top priority, and the General Manager serves as the frontline representative in addressing customer complaints or concerns with sincerity and professionalism.

Empowerment is a critical component of this position, as you will build capabilities within your team by providing ongoing coaching, identifying strengths, and supporting individual development and career growth. Your leadership will encourage knowledge sharing and the use of resources and tools that promote personal and business success.

Physical demands of the job include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours. The position requires flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. This exempt management position typically involves working a minimum of 50 hours per week with additional hours as necessary to meet business and operational demands. Border Foods values diversity and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities without discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.

Please note that this opportunity is with a franchisee of Taco Bell and not Taco Bell Corporation or its affiliates. The franchisee is an independent business owner responsible for setting wages and benefits, which may differ between franchisees.
