Job Description
Border Foods began as a simple idea between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since grown into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. This dynamic company operates under a people-first mantra, focusing on fostering a supportive and engaging work environment where all employees—from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers—are valued members of the team. By embracing their core values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment, Border Foods strives to make lives better not only for their customers but also for their employees and communities. The company emphasizes continuous growth and learning, offering opportunities for personal and professional development that allow employees to evolve and shape the future of the organization. The company culture is deeply rooted in creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments where every individual can thrive and contribute their best.
As a General Manager with Border Foods, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the company’s core values and advancing its mission to improve lives. This leadership position oversees the operation of an entire restaurant, ensuring that a high standard of quality, customer service, and team management is consistently maintained. You will be responsible for creating a positive and productive workplace where team members are empowered and supported to perform at their best. It is your mission to make the lives of employees and guests better by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth, accountability, and teamwork.
The General Manager is tasked with cultivating a strong team that provides exceptional food and friendly customer experiences. You will manage all operational aspects of the restaurant, including scheduling, training, inventory management, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Leadership skills are essential, as you will guide and mentor team members, resolve issues, and motivate your staff through active communication and recognition.
Border Foods offers one of the most competitive compensation packages in the industry, with General Managers earning up to $100,000 per year, combining base pay and substantial bonus potential. Exceptional performers are rewarded with annual trips to Mexico, inclusion in bonus programs that can add up to $40,000 annually, and robust education programs, including GED and tuition reimbursements, along with scholarship opportunities. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available to all employees, including those working part-time. Additional perks include free food, paid vacation time, sick and holiday pay, a vacation donation program, and a supportive company culture that encourages career growth.
This role demands dedication and flexibility as an exempt management position expecting at least 50 hours per week, with additional hours as necessary to meet business needs. Candidates should be prepared to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours, which can be accommodated as needed.
Border Foods is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer that welcomes diversity and inclusion. This position is with an independent franchisee of Taco Bell, separate from Taco Bell Corporation, meaning wage and benefits programs may vary. Joining Border Foods means becoming part of a family that is committed to excellence, employee empowerment, and making a meaningful impact every day.
