Job Description
BURGER KING is one of the most iconic names in the global fast food industry, known for serving high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food to millions of guests daily. Founded in 1954, BURGER KING has grown to become the second largest fast food hamburger chain worldwide. The brand has built its reputation on its commitment to premium ingredients, signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences that have delighted guests for over 50 years. With a strong emphasis on operational excellence and guest satisfaction, BURGER KING continues to uphold its legacy as the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER, drawing millions of customers seeking quick service combined with quality food offerings.
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at BURGER KING plays a pivotal role as the executive leader responsible for the overall success and profitability of a single restaurant location. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM oversees all aspects of daily operations including guest service, team leadership, financial management, and operational standards. Managing a team consisting of an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20 to 45 team members, the RGM is instrumental in creating an outstanding guest experience while driving sales and controlling costs.
The role demands a highly skilled leader who can effectively balance multiple priorities such as maintaining high operational standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Profitability and guest satisfaction are at the core of the RGM’s responsibilities, requiring a focus on analyzing P&L statements, implementing strategies to enhance sales, and solving guest feedback issues swiftly and effectively.
Additionally, the RGM is responsible for recruiting, training, and developing team members to build a competent workforce capable of delivering excellent service. Providing coaching and ongoing feedback to staff ensures continuous improvement and prepares future leaders within the restaurant. This role requires someone who can inspire and motivate the team through recognition programs and a strong commitment to the brand’s service philosophy.
Operational effectiveness is also critical, with the RGM managing labor schedules and staff deployment to optimize productivity and maintain smooth restaurant operations. The RGM must also handle any necessary responsibilities of subordinate managers when needed, ensuring there is no disruption in service or management function.
This full-time position requires flexibility, including working evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the restaurant and its guest traffic patterns. To thrive in this role, candidates should possess at least one to two years of restaurant management experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of financial drivers in a fast-paced restaurant setting. Overall, the Restaurant General Manager position at BURGER KING offers an exciting leadership opportunity within a globally recognized and respected fast food brand, promising both challenges and rewards for the right individual.
