Job Description

Border Foods is a prominent privately held franchisee of Taco Bell, one of America’s most beloved Mexican fast-food brands. Founded by two brothers with a simple idea to open a Mexican restaurant, Border Foods has grown into one of the largest Taco Bell franchise operators in the country. This remarkable journey underscores the company’s commitment not only to its culinary roots but also to a people-first mantra that inspires every team member. Border Foods prides itself on fostering a family-like atmosphere where employees—from cooks to cashiers to restaurant managers—are valued, supported, and empowered to grow both personally and professionally. The company’s Core Values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment serve as the foundation of its culture and operations.

At Border Foods, the role of General Manager is crucial to sustaining this strong, positive culture and driving operational excellence. As a General Manager, your primary mission is to embody and reinforce Border Foods' Core Values while overseeing the full operations of an assigned restaurant. This position requires a dynamic leader who can build and motivate a cohesive team dedicated to providing customers with great food and a friendly, welcoming experience. You will be responsible not just for managing daily operational tasks but also for creating a supportive environment where employees and guests feel safe, valued, and encouraged to thrive. The role blends leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on management to ensure the restaurant meets financial goals and maintains high quality and safety standards.

Compensation for this position includes a competitive base salary ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 per year, augmented by lucrative performance bonuses. Key incentives include an annual trip to Mexico for top performers, bonus potential of up to $40,000 annually, and comprehensive benefits even for part-time employees. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, education assistance programs such as GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, paid vacation and holiday leave, and a vacation donation program. Additionally, General Managers enjoy free food while working and become part of an incredible culture that fosters career growth and continuous support.

This exempt management position requires a minimum commitment of 50 hours per week to meet the operational demands of the restaurant, as well as flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary. The role demands a results-driven leader with a minimum of three years of restaurant or retail experience who is skilled in sales building, profit and loss management, recruiting, and team development. Certifications like ServeSafe and a valid driver’s license are also essential, along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Joining Border Foods as a General Manager means becoming part of a passionate family dedicated to making lives better through exceptional food service and workplace culture. It offers a unique opportunity to lead in one of America’s largest and most respected Taco Bell franchise networks, while enjoying excellent compensation, rewarding career incentives, and a supportive environment where your impact will make a difference every day.
