Job Description
Burger King is a globally recognized fast food restaurant chain famous for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food offerings. Founded in 1954, Burger King stands as the second largest fast food hamburger chain worldwide, operating numerous franchised locations that serve millions of guests daily. The brand is known primarily as the home of the Whopper sandwich and prides itself on its commitment to premium ingredients, signature recipes, and providing a family-friendly dining experience. Over its more than half a century of successful operations, Burger King has developed a reputable presence in the fast food industry by consistently focusing on customer satisfaction and delivering quality products with a focus on operational excellence.
The role of Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at Burger King holds critical importance as the executive leader of a restaurant's team. RGMs are entrusted with overall responsibility for the profitable day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, effective people management, and compliance with operational standards. Working directly under the guidance of a District Manager, the General Manager leads a team comprising Assistant Managers, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and Team Members. They are pivotal in strategizing and executing initiatives to improve sales, manage costs, enhance employee performance, and maintain high standards for service and cleanliness.
The Restaurant General Manager must demonstrate strong leadership abilities to motivate and direct their team in delivering friendly, accurate, and efficient service in a clean and inviting environment. They play a hands-on role in managing the guest experience by swiftly addressing and resolving guest feedback and complaints through structured problem-solving approaches. The manager also engages with the local community to attract new guests and capitalize on local marketing opportunities.
Key responsibilities include managing profit and loss to boost restaurant profitability, leading recruitment and retention efforts to build a strong team, and overseeing team member training and certification processes for onboarding. Leadership extends to recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments to foster motivation. The RGM also closely manages labor costs and ensures staffing levels meet the operational demands effectively. The role may occasionally require stepping in as an Assistant Manager or Shift Coordinator to support the team during peak times or absences.
This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary of $50,000 per year, along with bonus pay that rewards performance. The position requires availability on weekends, holidays, and the ability to work 10-hour shifts. No formal education background is necessary, making it accessible to candidates with restaurant management experience who are ready to lead a dynamic team on-site. Benefits offered include flexible scheduling, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, employee discounts, paid training, paid time off, and 401(k) retirement plans with company matching. This opportunity presents a rewarding career path for motivated individuals passionate about the food service industry and leadership excellence.
