Job Description

You are applying for work with a franchisee of Taco Bell, which operates independently from Taco Bell Corp. or any of its affiliates. The franchisee you will work with is an independent business owner who sets their own wage and benefit programs, which can vary among different franchisees. This means that if hired, your employment and all associated benefits will be directly through the franchisee, not Taco Bell Corp. This creates a unique working environment with a focus on localized management and operational autonomy.

The role of Restaurant General Manager (RGM) is a pivotal leadership position within the Taco Bell restaurant structure. As an RGM, you will take hands-on responsibility for the day-to-day operations of an assigned Taco Bell restaurant. This position involves close collaboration with Assistant Managers and Shift Managers to ensure smooth operations. You will be instrumental in maintaining initiatives such as interviewing, hiring, and training staff. Alongside people management, you will conduct performance reviews and oversee the financial performance of the restaurant.

Your focus will include optimizing financial outcomes by managing expenses and maximizing revenue, ensuring that all products served meet the highest standards of quality and food safety. Exceptional customer service is at the heart of the job, and you will implement strategies to deliver a consistently friendly and satisfying customer experience. In addition, you will ensure the restaurant remains a safe environment for both team members and customers, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.

The RGM must manage compliance with company policies involving cash handling, security measures, inventory controls, and labor allocation. This includes making sure that all staff follow these policies rigorously. You will also manage challenging human resources issues when they arise, handling disciplinary actions and terminations professionally and fairly.

Taking an entrepreneurial 'ownership' approach is essential in this role. You are expected to foster a culture of accountability and urgency, leading by example and motivating your team to achieve operational excellence. Payroll management is another critical area of responsibility, involving the smooth processing and recording of employee hours and communication with the payroll department at the home office.

Job Duties

  • Ensuring all staff members complete all assigned duties and serve safe, quality food in a friendly manner
  • Ensuring that the restaurant is a safe place for Team Members to work and customers to visit
  • Addressing and resolving customer complaints quickly and professionally
  • Following all cash, security, inventory and labor policies and procedures and ensuring that staff members do the same
  • Handling difficult HR issues as they arise, including disciplinary write-ups and terminations
  • Taking an entrepreneurial ownership approach to the management of your restaurant
  • Ensuring that payroll is running smoothly and that all hours are correctly recorded and communicating with the payroll department at our home office
